• This tender-aged, silky-voiced singer-songwriter packs enough intelligence and insight into her set that you’ll wonder how it is that she’s not from Texas and pushing forty. - Anonymous/Review for first show with CMJ

Your music has a playful passion that is raw and sexy, to the point and certainly fills up thirsty ears globally. I am quite sure that your music will grace the airwaves on greenarrowradio once again, and YES, getting played twice on one show is UNHEARD of... - Mr. G

Thank you for the talent that has lifted my spirit.

Hi Dana,

I forgot to tell you in my last note that I watched your video and voted for you! It's a really cool video. You blow away all the other videos with your talent and looks!

Take care, John

Your video

Stevie Nicks meets Liz Phair.

I like it.

Marc, LA

SWALLOW IT DOWN and THIS SONG'S FOR YOU are my favorites of the four. I heard a few of my older favorite indie bands mingled into your sound: Breeders, Liz Phair, Hole (if courtney went acoustic), PJ Harvey.

VP of Global Film Sales & Acquisitions

your music is unusual, kind of a fresh thing. like it a lot!
- The internet.

Hefty two part interview by CMJ staff writer and developer of the up and coming IRT Mag. Was posted on CMJ.com staff blog and resides in the archives of IRT. Can be send upon request. - Brad Filicky

If size really matters, why is it that the most powerful vocal pipes are so often given to diminutive people? Big pipes in small packages came to mind while listening to singer/songwriter Dana Varon perform at the CMJ Music Marathon. The petite, blonde Varon filled the room with a sexy, croaky voice belonging to an older, smokier throat. After an hour long set of original material, she ended the night with a nod to Stevie Nicks with a sounding rendition of Rhiannon. - Former CMJ Film Fest Director/PR for Harper Collins & Penguin

Travel to Dana’s MySpace page and fall in love. Instantly endearing, her somewhat bare-bones music offers an intimate take-me-as-I-am glimpse at her world. Not as raw as PJ Harvey, not as spacey as Hope Sandoval, the music is sometimes atmospheric in nature. In fact, Back to My Roots could be the perfect accompaniment to cooking dinner with a special someone or sitting in a darkened bar at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Rocking the hidden-track remix of “Swallow It Down,” her debut video follows her through the streets of New York City, strumming her guitar and drawing you in. Slightly exhibitionist photos in her Pics section make you thankful she’s not as wholesome as you might first think. Innocent? Yes. A prude? Thank heavens, no. Enjoy a refreshing departure from all the jaded, soiled crap you’re probably listening to right now. [myspace.com/danavaron] SP-Reviewer Mag http://www.Reviewermag.com
