BandRock

Australian band -Dance with Voices (DWV) on the strength of their own musical passion and definitive cross-breed sounds have already been earmarked by the editor of seminal UK rock bible NME as a top ‘breaking band’ and have garnered praise in Oz, Japan and the UK. 2008 is the year they unleash!

Biography

These 4 young talented lads hail from Melbourne Australia and can sometimes be seen to draw paralleles with the likes of Joy Division, U2, Pet Shop Boys and Human League, Dance with Voices show their famiiarity with the 80s synth revolution but they continue to roll their sound forward, stamping it with their own brand of strong evocative vocals and stomping rock song structures.

After playing shows over the last year and a half both locally and in the UK, there has already been significant local, UK and Japan label interest in the band.

Over the last year, DWV have been chosen to play at Australia’s leading music festivals. DWV appeared on the main stages of the Good Vibrations Festival and We Love Sounds during 2007 and have been booked for a prime timeslot New Years Eve at the upcoming Falls Festival in Victoria. We are presently in negotiation with the biggest music festivals in Australia who have shown and interest for performances during 2008.

The band are regularly approached to be the support act for popular Australian bands who rely on Dance with Voices to assist them in drawing Melbourne crowds of which they are known to have a strong following in their hometown. They have in 2007 supported bands such as Expatriate, Red Riders, and Dappled Cities Fly on their national tours and secured coveted support slots for international bands MSTRKRFT and The Infadels.

In 2007, the band were invited from a handful of Australian bands to perform at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton in the UK along with two appearances at the popular Barfly venues in London where many successful emerging bands are know to have been discovered. Following these shows international labels that are keen to know more about the band and hear more material approached us.
We have secured editorial coverage in national street press such as Inpress Magazine and international press such as NME mag. The General Pants magazine, which is popular amongst Australian youth, also recently ran a feature in the magazine. With a host of festival, headline and support shows coming up between Nov and March 2008 with new material being featured in our live shows we will be driving publicity amongst national music media to let public know this is a band to watch out for.
Already community radio station FBi have been playing Dance with Voices tracks and Triple J - who named them as the Next Crop of Artists to look out for. This is a pretty good start for the band, which already has key Australian media showing an interest in them.

We have not secured a publishing deal however already our songs are regularly submitted to be used for TV programs, advertisements and websites. Dance with Voices tracks have already been used in Big Brother, Love my Way Australian series and various other placements.

Presently recording new material, the epicness of the band and the songs they are making show are showing this band has the guts and glory to take it to the top!
