Their music is referred to as "cosmic acoustic." Ask Greg what that means and he'll tell you it's "soulful acoustic music with a cosmic perspective." Who is dancing Light?

Two powerful solo singer/songwriters met on stage at a benefit concert for an environmental organization when they were asked to duet on a verse together. The musical collaboration of Greg Webb and Kiki Carter Webb is known as dancing Light.

The name dancing Light comes from a cosmic journey that Kiki experienced when near death in 1983...a light-filled vision of the nature of the universe. Kiki's songwriting is reflective of her personal journey and is often a call for unity and higher consciousness. As a vocalist, Kiki is magnetic, drawing you into her inner world. She shares her intimate connection to her muse with her audience. Kiki's lyric writing is visually compelling and her classical instrumental training works it's way into her vocal phrasing and unusual harmonies.

Greg's soulful voice is full and rich, reflecting the earthy styles of his early musical influences: Bob Dylan, The Band, Spider-John Koerner, Leo Kottke, The Grateful Dead. You will often hear blues and R&B influences in Greg's writing. Greg's lyrics are poetic portals and you'll find his cosmic love songs peppered throughout your dancing Light concert.

What is unique about dancing Light?

Greg and Kiki combine their complementary voices and musical styles with a purpose behind their passion - to participate in the creation of a new paradigm for the 21st century.

They are musical lightworkers whose deepest longings are for higher consciousness, unity of spirit, abundance, health and peace for all who coexist on this miraculous blue-green planet.

Lyrics

Jingle Dancer

Written By: Kiki Carter Webb

smoke the four directions
heavens and the earth
let me be
simplicity

I offer up my fear
I offer up my greed
Let me be
humility

CHORUS

have you ever seen the jingle dancers
prancing through the clouds
I swear to you
their feet don't touch the ground

as the sun beats in the firelight
shawl dancers twirl
they celebrate the circle of their lives
they celebrate the circle of our lives

babies born
elders pass
seeded
from the stars

CHORUS

the meek shall inherit
the meek shall inherit
the meek shall inherit
all

Rice Cakes from the Moon

Written By: Kiki Carter Webb

dragonflies hover
over moonflowers
raspberries wait
for 8 year old hands
sun through the clouds lights
green paper lanterns
come to the harvest with me

coneflowers criss cross
zig zagging skyward
bumbling bees buzz
busily by
mama tomato
flaunting her fruit
come to the harvest with me

CHORUS
rabbits making rice cakes on the moon
rabbits making rice cakes on the moon
rabbits making rice cakes on the moon
rabbits making rice cakes on the moon

basil is leafing
oregano creeping
rosemary keeping
thyme with the sage
lavender swaying
butterflies playing
come to the harvest with me

CHORUS

crackling fire
grateful eyes shining
hearts beating thanks
for gifts from the earth
voices are raised
in great jubilation
come to the harvest with me

CHORUS

rabbits making rice cakes on the moon

Yes It Does

Written By: Greg Webb

Does the way you love me make me wanna dance
Yes it does
Does the way you love me make me wanna dance
Yes it does
Ooh the way you love me
Love the way you do what you do

Does the way you love me make me wanna sing
Yes it does
Does the way you love me make me wanna sing
Yes it does
Ooh the way you touch my heart
Like ringing a bell

BREAK:
The wind in the rushes tell me now
The stars in the sky, they say it’s true
I just want to tell you I love you baby
And I wouldn’t want to be anywhere
But here with you

Does the way you love me make me wanna cry
Yes it does
Does the way you love me make me wanna cry
Yes it does
Ooh the way you love me make me cry a river of joy

BREAK

Does the way you love me make me wanna dance
Yes it does
Does the way you love me make me wanna dance
Yes it does
Ooh the way you love me
Love the way you do what you do

Land of Now

Written By: Greg Webb & Kiki Carter Webb

it could be the morning
the way the sunlight filters in
through the aspen and the northern pines
I catch a fire from the east

maybe it was something on the breeze
(riding on the wind)
that brought this feeling home to me
(closer and closer)
something in the rise and fall of your breath
(something in the beat of your heart)
a bend in the road between our birth and death
(here we are)

CHORUS:
what is this light that shines from a distant star
as all that I am is gathered in all you are
could this be the fulfillment of our highest dream
could this be the sacred fruit of our heart’s seed
sown in the land of Now
in the land of Now

it could be this moment
raising the flag of destiny
it could be this ocean
rising tide inside of me

maybe it’s an age-old song
(maybe it’s an angel song)
in which we find our harmony
(blending together)
looking in the mirror of my lover’s heart
(reflecting truth)
that shines this perfect light on me

what is this light that shines from a distant star
as all that I am is gathered in all you are
could this be the fulfillment of our highest dream
could this be the sacred fruit of our heart’s seed
sown in the land of Now
in the land of Now

SPOKEN:
an alchemy of spirit
we gather to witness feeding a sacred fire
Sun and Moon dance as one
the strength of their circles joined
rising weightless
a sacred smoke from the heart of the fire
condensing in the high atmosphere
to rain a fresh vision on the land
the garden reborn

BRIDGE:
like the aspen trembles in the wind
I feel a stirring in my heart begin
in the magic and the wonder
you have shown me inside
I am alive

what is this light that shines from a distant star
as all that I am is gathered in all you are
could this be the fulfillment of our highest dream
could this be the sacred fruit of our heart’s seed
sown in the land of Now
in the land of Now

in the land of Now

Love Sticks

Written By: Greg Webb & Kiki Carter Webb

Put up the love sticks
Bring the flaps down low
Put up the love sticks
You and I will roll away together
We’re gonna roll away together

Nothing but a robin’s song
Do I hear
So baby light a candle
And bring your body near
You and I will roll away together
We’re gonna roll away together

Listen to the raindrops
A hush and a rhythm
On the roof above our heads
I can feel more than hear
The music of our love
Oh baby

You and I will roll away together
We’re gonna roll away together
You and I will roll away together
We’re gonna roll away together
Roll
Roll until we’re one

Put up the love sticks
Bring the flaps down low
Put up the love sticks
You and I will roll away together
We’re gonna roll away together

It All Comes Clear

Written By: Greg Webb

This song came written in
Written in the spirit’s ink
As the harvest moon filled the sky
And gave me pause to think
Of the broken road
We call love
Of the rage and ruin
What were we thinking of
And the wounded hearts
That crawled away
From the debris
Of our colliding insecurity

And it all comes clear
Today

My heart comes dancing in
Dancing in the lion’s skin
As the lines of reason weather thin
In the magic that great mystery spin

And the open door
That calls us home
From the distant places
Where our illusions roam
And the knowledge of
The power of love
And the spirit hand that wears our bodies
Like a glove

And it all comes clear
Today

Bright Star

Written By: Greg Webb

Bright star
Light a trail across the dawn
Bright star
This longing ache in which I’m born
Bright star
As we blaze into the sun
We are one

The breath of recognition
Breathes into me
The depth of intuition
You see right through me
Speaking of a lifetime
In the twinkling of an eye
Bright star

CHORUS:
Bright star
Light a trail across the dawn
Bright star
Thjs longing ache in which I’m born
Bright star
As we blaze into the sun
We are one

This poet’s heart with which I’m blessed
I know will never bring me happiness
Until it walks on every shore
In its hunger
Until it’s opened ever door
In its wonder
One part the darkness
One part the light
I’m in the middle holding on with all my might

Bright star

The breath of recognition
Breathes into me
The depth of intuition
You see right through me
Speaking of a lifetime
In the twinkling of an eye

Bright star
Light a trail across the dawn
Bright star
This longing ache in which I’m born
Bright star
As we blaze into the sun

Bright star
Light a trail across the dawn
Bright star
Thjs longing ache in which I’m born
Bright star
As we blaze into the sun

Meadowdance

Written By: Kiki Carter Webb

Her faerie blood runs hot and wild
she dances in the firelight
silvery wings
shimmer in blue moonlight

humma humma yeah

shadow faerie grips the moss
she pulls herself up from the bog
silvery wings
shrouded in heavy fog

humma humma yeah

goddess faerie fans the flames
Her passion rises to the skies
silvery wings
glittering as she flies

the shadow and the goddess and the faerie in the meadow dance
yeah yeah

Minnesota Winter

Written By: Kiki Carter Webb

Wicked as a Minnesota winter
Cold as the age of ice
Bruised as swollen skies
When I look into your eyes
When I look into your eyes

Flapjacks, eggs and coffee
Day breaks through the pines
Brawn and grit will triumph
For farmhouse, church and barn
For farmhouse church and barn

Drag their frozen bodies
Lay them on the shore
Til the rushing waters find them
They will seek the sun, no more
They will seek the sun, no more

You’re as wicked as a Minnesota winter
Cold as the age of ice
I’m bruised as swollen skies
When I look into your eyes
When I look into your eyes

Blistered by the bucksaw
Crushed by shifting logs
Broken by the silence
How the mighty fall
Oh how the mighty fall

Now we lay beneath the forest
Seasons churning us to dust
Spring will bring redemption
As we flower in the sun
As we flower in the sun

I’m a hollow reed on the Mississippi
I’m the wind on Trader’s Bay
I’m the sand beneath the water
I’m poplar, birch and fir
I’m poplar, birch and fir
