Dan Fisk

Award winning and versatile singer-songwriter, Dan Fisk, brings a dynamic brand of acoustic rock to venues across the Mid-Atlantic. Drawing comparisons to fellow Virginia natives Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz, and Pat McGee, Fisk’s ability to write memorable melodies and his trademark soaring choruses have brought crowds and gained him a loyal fan base. Dan has spent much of the last 7 years with his Northern Virginia band, Knockout Mouse. In addition to continuing his full band shows, he has recently refocused attention on his solo performances.

Described as a rhythmic, often chunky and percussive playing style, Fisk has spent two decades perfecting his dynamic sound. It’s a style that can vary greatly, even within a single song; seamlessly shifting between powerful strumming to delicate fingerpicking. He’s focused his energy on producing a full and vibrant guitar style, which is spotlighted by the signature “muting” that is featured throughout his songs. The technique creates a unique sound when he uses this heavy hand style to place his mark on thumping rock tunes, and provides the ideal contrast to highlight soothing, heartfelt ballads.

During Fisk’s solo performances he is able to showcase his guitar playing and vocal talents, letting the intricacies of his songwriting shine while infusing cover songs with his distinctive sound. Together, when backed by Knockout Mouse, they create an atmosphere that draws audiences to their feet and crowds to the dance floor. 2010 will be the first year that Fisk will focus 100% of his energy into furthering his musical career. After finally phasing out his work in the Environmental Field, there is a growing group of friends and fans that are confident in his ability, and anxious to follow him as he rises through the ranks of the east coast’s musical elite.
