Dangerbird

A little something about us: Dangerbird is a full-tilt guitar rock band from beautiful Louisville, Kentucky. The band is Brian Gray (vocals, guitar), Mike Nix (guitar, vocals), Donnie Bott (bass), and Bradley Coomes (drums).

Brian and Bradley were members of the now defunct Louisville band The Pine Club. Donnie had recorded The Pine Club in the past and Mike and Bradley have been friends since they were rock-obsessed teens. Dangerbird came together as a great excuse for us to drink beer and get our fix for killer riff-heavy rock a la Neil Young, The Faces, The Stones, The Who, etc. After finally getting in gear, the band has shared the stage with many amazing local bands and national up and comers including Cory Branan, The Glossary, and J-Roddy Walston and the Business.

Our debut Dr. Legs and the Medicine Ball was originally planned as two separate 5 song EPs. After realizing we had little to no money for such a venture, we settled on a full-length, concise 10 song disc. It borrows from Classic Rock heavyweights and more recent guitar-centric acts like Built to Spill, Dinosaur Jr., and Wilco. Our main goal was to have fun, while supplying sweet tunes with catchy melodies and killer riffs.
