"San Francisco Chronicle"

“With catchy rock hooks and an indie pop vibe, Dangermaker creates a unique sound that infects your soul.” - Tony DuShane, San Francisco Chronicle

"San Francisco Bay Guardian"

“Driving percussion and moody, anxious guitar hooks (Interpol at their most danceable?) lay a bed for singer Adam Burnett’s plaintive wail, which — while Bowie comparisons are hard to live up to (and he gets them often enough) — has a way of sticking around your eardrums… like an adventure dream full of danger you can’t quite put your finger on, something hanging on the precipice of nightmare, but too interesting to make you want to wake up.” - Emma Silvers, San Francisco Bay Guardian

"The Bay Bridged"

“A sensational ride between dark and light… anthemic and dramatic tracks that find the rock outfit taking on a much more mature sound. There’s much more to expect from Dangermaker with their upcoming Light The Dark EP I release.” - Victor Casillas Valle, The Bay Bridged

"Uncle Farkus Album Review"

“This is a real rock and roll album. Like in the movies.” - Uncle Farkus

"International Pop Overthrow Festival Review"

“A young indie-rock band who take classic rock stylings and bring them into The New Millennium-that’s Dangermaker. Lots of energy, cool, dark, angular melodies is their forte, and they’re doing it very well right now!” - David Bash, IPO

"Power Population Album Review"

“‘Black Dream’ fits in nicely with anyone’s collection, the melodies and instrumentation sometimes remind you of the feel of 60's pop. This is not a retro group, however, by any means. A modern rock foundation with pop sensibilities. The instrumentation is intriguing. It pulls you in and keeps you listening. There is a cohesive sound, yet the sound is not redundant. This is an album I can listen to from start to finish without skipping a track. My only complaint is that it ended too soon…" - powerpopulation.blogspot.com

"Editor's Review from CNET/download.com"

"A cross of Mick Jagger and David Bowie might make one scary looking dude, but his voice would sure intrigue. This SF act does a dead-on imitation of that unholy mash-up, then supports 'him' with juicy sleaze-rock guitars, a la another wildly skilled wildman: Keith Richards." - CNET/download.com

"Album Review from The Owl Mag"

"I'd rate Dangermaker as one of my top 5 favorite indie bands in the Bay Area. The magic behind Dangermaker's music is the accessibility in the sound, the listener 'gets' the melody with the first listen... much better than anything the majority of unsigned bands can produce on their own. If these guys don't make it big, or if at least the local radios don't start playing them, then this is one fat, unfair, life we all live in." - theowlmag.com

"Tough Customer Records Blog"

"San Francisco’s Dangermaker play slick, haunting guitar rock that goes perfectly with a shot of whiskey and an absence of light. Don’t bother listening to this band first thing in the morning as you enjoy a bran muffin with your skim latte. This is not a breakfast band. Instead, you should throw on their EP at the tail end of a three-day bender when you’ve jacked up the stereo and you’re just looking to make one last pass at the girl sitting by herself at the end of the bar. I can’t say for certain, but I’m pretty sure Dangermaker are creatures of the night - which works for me because I am definitely not a morning person." - toughcustomer.org

"DOA Online Zine Review"

"An amalgam of indie-pop and 70s blues-rock, (Dangermaker) songs have something of Cheap Trick to them, with a little Harvey Danger or Modest Mouse thrown in. 'Need' could be decades-old radio fare... the guitars have some nice wah to them, and the singer can belt out a tune. The chorus of 'I need something / but I don’t know what it is' has Billboard charts stamped on it. The 3 minutes of 'Delirious' crawl around in an attempt at darkness, it’s actually a little creepy compared to the other cuts... This 5-song EP is not for everyone."
- David Smith, DOA Online Zine - David Smith, DOA

"Decoy Music"

"Swaggering along, Dangermaker sound like they’re they type of guys to be smoking stogies and slamming whiskey while on stage, taking breaks between songs to wink at the pretty ladies and revel in how cool they are. A review at CNET said that Dangermaker sounded like a mix of Mick Jagger and David Bowie... and I couldn’t really come up with a better comparison than that. Add some modern indie rock sensibilities to the catalog of those two artists and you have a very clear picture of how this EP comes across."

Bio

San Francisco’s champions of overcast pop-heavy rock n’ roll, Dangermaker, have a very solid track record, which their forthcoming sophomore album succeeds in solidifying further. Picking up where they left off with their Light the Dark EPs, this album is defined by classic songwriting, charmingly familiar hooks and a particular style of raw, warm production that flows throughout courtesy of producer Aaron Hellam. The band has had an exciting past year or two, including recent festival appearances at Bottlerock Napa and Live 105’s BFD Music Festivals – with headliners like Florence & The Machine, Atlas Genius, Grouplove, Modest Mouse, Cold War Kids and Best Coast – continuing on with US tour dates. Dangermaker's new LP is scheduled for release early 2018.

After lead singer Adam Brookes’ father suffered a fatal accident and suddenly passed away during the first week of tracking their debut album Black Dream, Adam, Carlos, Dave & Neko plunged into their art with urgency and a newfound lust for life, eventually emerging with a cathartic sound that defines their new releases on Breakup Records. Channeling a signature brand of dark indie pop ala early Killers, Phoenix, and White Lies has propelled the band forward to recent showcases at SXSW, CMJ and beyond.
