Ever look back on your life and wonder, “How did I get here?” Well, I find myself asking this question constantly. But after much thought and analyzing, I always come to the same conclusion: God is good and He directs our steps!

My hometown is Raymondville, a little ‘ol town at the very southern tip of Texas. This particular area is known as the Rio Grande Valley. I was raised by my loving parents, grandmother, and only big brother. There I was, eleven years old and heavily into video games and watching MTV, when my brother who had been playing guitar for four years decided to get me to learn the instrument….the nerve! Of course after turning him down, I then decided to pick up his guitar when he wasn’t looking. After I learned my first guitar chord out of a beginner guitar book, I was instantly hooked. It was one of the many life-changing moments that would lead me toward my purpose, I just didn’t know it yet!

Fast forward about twenty years…several bands and hundreds of gigs later, I found myself happily married to the woman of my dreams with two of the most beautiful children on the face of the earth, living in our gorgeous home surrounded by family and great friends. And yet, deep down, there was a feeling of emptiness, as if something (more like Someone!) was missing from my life.

Summer of 2006 came around. Our kids were out of school and we decided to take a trip to visit my mom in Houston, TX. It was during this visit that she invited my family and I to Lakewood Church. I can honestly say I had no idea what affect this visit would have on my life! As soon as my family and I walked into Lakewood, the Holy Spirit grabbed a hold of our hearts through what we heard and saw! I was immediately held captive by the music I heard, I mean I had never heard “church music” like this before! I was blown away! It was as if a voice inside of me was saying, “This is where you belong”. It was then that the Lord began to reveal to me the true reason He gave me a passion to write and perform music: to tell the world the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life! One thing is for sure, God got my attention through the music being played at Lakewood Church that Wednesday evening in June 2006.

It didn’t take long before my wife and I agreed on where we had to be and what had to be done. We both knew that our family was being called to relocate to Houston. I also felt a strong calling to begin serving at Lakewood Church. We spent the rest of that summer in 2006 packing up, resigning from our jobs, putting up the “For Sale” sign in front of our house, and moving three hundred miles to Houston without hesitation. We knew in our hearts that God would honor us for our faith and trust in Him. Sure enough, upon our arrival into the big city, God blessed us with another gorgeous home, new jobs, wonderful schools for our children, and an awesome church to serve and grow in! God’s favor and blessings showed up like we never would have thought possible.

A few months of serving, learning, and spiritual growth at Lakewood Church led me to begin writing lyrics and music for my first Christian rock CD, "Good Feeling". Since I always loved the radio-friendly rock sounds of bands like Journey and Toto, I hope the songs on "Good Feeling" give the listener just that: a good feeling with a Christ-centered message. I pray that this music will bring everyone who hears it closer to Jesus, bringing Him glory and praise.

This is my testimony on how our Lord Jesus Christ can and will make ALL of our hopes and dreams come true. With Christ, ALL things are possible! All we have to do is believe and seek Him with all of our heart and He will always be there to comfort, protect, provide, and love us! So again, “How did I get here?” GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!
