The "Masterpiece” in Daniel Masterpiece Jones stands for "The Masters Presence In Every Creative Effort". He quotes, "Yes, I do make music that is exciting and interactive in order to create a great live show, but, you will also find so much substance in it once grab your headphones and give it a good listen.” Because Daniel grew up on a military base in Germany, and then spent his later years traveling the world before settling in New Orleans, his music has a very no-specific variety of influences. For example, his most current release (Buena Vista) is a Latin-Pop, Hip-Hop ballad guaranteed to make your hips sway.
Masterpiece’s first musical journey began in Germany where he debuted his first single on tour with Canton Jones. Months later, he would appear on HLN's The Morning Show with Robin Meade performing his next single “Heart of a Soldier.” Still settling into his identity, but inspired by his military background, Daniel would continue to perform across the west coast with the Yellow Ribbon Program. Masterpiece’s first project “Chokehold the EP” was released in 2016. Receiving great reviews and accolades locally, Masterpiece and DJ Third Era took the EP across America with the Extreme Tour. Crossing over 20 states and 80 cities, Daniel Masterpiece Jones perfected his performance skills and settled into his own style.
Since coming to New Orleans in 2017 Daniel has erupted onto the music and comedy scene in some pretty big ways. He has been performing in legendary venues such as Gasa Gasa, The Contemporary Arts Center, Hi-Ho Lounge, and Always Lounge. Masterpiece has brought a fresh new face to an already prolific scene. You can now find him hosting Variety shows at the Art Klub, or telling jokes at Hidden Gem Comedy (a show he co-produces with local artist Jay Lapin). You can also find him DJ'ing everything from fitness classes to corporate parties. One of the shows that introduced NOLA to Masterpiece is a semi-secret monthly gig that gained him a following due to what a fan referred to as his "great vibe that kept me focused and an incredible energy that had me jumping up and down during the whole set".
