Champion fiddlers and multi-instrumentalists, Daniel and Amy Carwile are a dynamic husband and wife musical duo whose personal connection lends poignancy to their music and spark to their performances. Showcasing versatility on fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar, piano, and vocals, their eclectic repertoire of acoustic music includes traditional tunes as well as original compositions stylistically ranging from bluegrass and old-time to Celtic and swing.

Seasoned and diverse musicians, the Carwiles bring to the stage over 48 years of performing experience. They have performed with artists such as Tim O’Brien, Bela Fleck, The Moody Blues, The Battlefield Band, and Mark O’Connor. Competing across the country, Amy has garnered fiddle awards in over 10 states and British Columbia. Daniel, a U.S. Grand Master and World Series of Fiddling Champion, is also a sought after session musician, recording on Rounder, Sugar Hill, and Rebel Records with the likes of Alison Krauss, Sam Bush, Kenny & Amanda Smith, John Cowan, and Larry Cordle. His participation in, “Moody Bluegrass: A Nashville Tribute to the Moody Blues,” earned him a nomination for Recorded Event of the Year from the International Bluegrass Music Association and climbed to number 8 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Chart. Daniel and Amy's latest recording, Col Arco, climbed to #5 on the Folk Radio Chart in August of 2007.

Daniel and Amy operate Carwile String Studio, specializing in fiddle, viola, mandolin, and guitar instruction, passing along America’s rich musical heritage to students of all ages. In tandem with their private instruction, they travel throughout the U.S. and abroad conducting fiddle workshops and master classes in addition to music camps such as Mark O’Connor’s Fiddle Camps and String Conferences, the International Fiddle School at Vanderbilt University, and the Swannanoa Gathering Fiddle Week.

Daniel and Amy’s unique musical style has been heard from the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee to venues and audiences across the United States as well as Canada and the British Isles. Whether mesmerizing the audience with a slow harmony or busting bow hair on foot-stomping hoedowns, the Carwiles deliver, straight from the heart.
