Daniel Badeie

When you meet Daniel Badeie you’re at once struck with how he radiates a sense of utter presence. Meeting and interacting with people is something he is passionate about both on and off stage. He was 4 years old when he came to Sweden from war torn Iran and ever since his childhood in Uppsala, music has been the main thread in his life. Soon it has been 15 years since he performed on stage for the first time. Daniel Badeie´s main influences are rock and pop music from the 1960s and 70s as well as alternative rock/pop from the early 90s, which you can hear clearly when you listen to his work. His musical landscape is a mix of organs, strings and acoustic guitars that accompany Daniels powerful glowing voice which forms the basis of his music. The lyrics are often pervaded with a strong political awareness. He takes on a critical perspective of modern society and shows its unfair structures and silenced voices, a perspective derived from many years of observations and discussions. Now he makes music on his own terms. He is determined never to be one of those artists who are forced into compromising with their ideas. Daniel Badeie tells you the truth, no matter where you meet him. He is currently working on his debut album to follow up the success of 2010 EP “ Die young”.
