Bio

Daniel Kirkley is the first to admit he doesn’t have the answers—but he has a spirit that is constantly searching for them. “I don’t know what God has in store for me. I just want to share what I’ve learned with all believers and perhaps learn together what it is to truly live by faith, not by sight in the light of God’s grace.”

That mentality coupled with Daniel’s natural abilities caught the attention of record executives with Centricity Records (www.centricityrecords.com), “a Washington based commercial Christian music label that was founded on the principals of combining the benefits of music and ministry.” Daniel has most recently entered into an agreement with Centricity Records & has begun work on his 3rd, as yet untitled, project (TBA). More information regarding this coming soon…

Prior to this development however, Daniel has been touring in support of his second project entitled “Seasons of Grace” (2003). “I wanted to write an album that reflected my heart in every way. I haven’t been writing very long, so I knew this project would be a long effort; a year to be exact.” This album blinds Daniel’s piano playing abilities with his unique pop/classical vocal approach to melody and singing. “It’s been a year of small victories, huge let-downs and unanswered questions for Daniel. “It’s been hard”, he says, “everything that could have possibly went wrong with that album did, but God was—and—is so faithful through everything.”

Since the age of 5, music has always played a huge role in Daniel Kirkley’s life. The Lancaster, South Carolina native continually felt a calling to share his faith with others. After graduating from high school, Daniel attended the University of South Carolina where he double-majored in Music and Pre-med. While at USC, his outlook on life changed when he learned to not live his life for others or even himself. He decided that his heart belonged to the ministry of increasing the Kingdom of God. Today, Daniel's God-given vision is to use his passion and gift of music to share his life and love of Christ through his testimony and song.

In the spring of 2000, Daniel moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue this calling. He was accepted to attend one of the nation's premier music schools, Belmont University. After moving to Nashville, he was met with an array of opportunities that affirmed the move on faith was part of God’s plan. That led Daniel to an internship with BMG Music Publishing’s Gospel Division, where he learned about the ins and outs of the Christian music industry. It was also served to open some huge doors. Not more than a month after graduation, Daniel accepted a job with Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing, the largest Christian publisher in the world.

In May 2001, Daniel released his debut project entitled “Uncompromised”, on which he wrote/co-wrote the majority of songs. "The greatest thing about being a believer in God is to be a part of his work and to feel His hand guiding you through life. My life has been changed by God's grace and comfort, and I feel blessed to have this opportunity to share with others the peace that I have only begun to understand.”

Now Daniel is embarking upon a new season. Through everything, he’s amazed at what God has taught him. He’s seen that God’s grace ends up getting ignored and trivialized in churches, businesses, families & our lives. “We point our fingers, scoff, ignore and turn our backs on Him everyday, yet we want Him to come through when the bottom drops out. There’s something wrong with that.” Daniel knows God has so much in store for His children, “but first we have to accept what it means live our lives selflessly…only then can God move to His full potential.”
