"Dynamite Dynamics"

I was in a club recently, but escaped outside while a typical rock band showcased their wares at about 110 decibels of volume and what seemed to be about ten percent talent. A member of another band approached me and invited me to see their performance, which was scheduled later in the hour.

"Are you anything like what we're enduring at the moment?" I asked. The artist hesitated a second, not wanting to knock a fellow performer, then said, "We play with a lot more dynamics, so you can distinguish all the voices and instruments."

Good answer. "Okay," I said, "I'll give a listen." Good move on my part. The band was Danielle Lo Presti and the Masses, and there are no drawbacks to their artistry -- assuming you like superb playing, passionate songs, whisper-to-a-scream song design, lovely harmonies, and a lead singer who seems to project her presence from the stage to the inside of your head.

Danielle Lo Presti and the Masses (DLPM) also have the kind of interlocking instrumental/vocal propulsion that engages the human nervous system on several levels, leading to a room full of bouncing bodies as the band percolates, rolls, and rocks their way through songs full of heart, grit, soul, and more than a dash of social commentary. DLPM are a stone solid gas."

"Music with a message, Music with Passion, Music with Groove and Music that is Sexy: It's all here in this wonderful cd from Danielle LoPresti and The Masses. The first listen knocked me out, the second fed my soul. This is music that feeds your every desire."
-JV Collier/ The Bruce Hornsby Band

"The socially conscious and musically rambunctious Danielle LoPresti and The Masses have once again unleashed a rattlesnake of an intellectually and emotionally driven album with 22 Mountains...

The work has been nearly two years in the making, and has much to live up to following the success of the feisty Dear Mr. Penis head. As gritty as its title may sound, the inaugural CD encompassed a flurry of human emotions ranging from fear, love, independence, and strength.
When Danielle wrapped her white-knuckled fists around her microphone and growled her first few notes in 2001, the world met its next musically sexy and lyrically poetic darling."

Danielle LoPresti has been an icon in the San Diego community at large for the last decade. A prominent figure in the mainstream local music scene, Danielle, along with her wife, Alicia Champion, are founders of San Diego IndieFest - the groundbreaking, community building, music and arts event that CA Assembly Speaker, Toni Atkins, credits for revitalizing the neighborhood of North Park.

An even louder voice within the San Diego LGBT community, Danielle is known for her outspoken activism for #BlackLivesMatter, marriage equality, women's rights, nonviolent conflict resolution, and adoption advocacy. She has been honored by San Diego Pride and the San Diego LGBT Center for her commitment to the community, while also named the city's "hottest lesbian" by The Gay & Lesbian Times.

A dynamic performer, songwriter and actor, Danielle's work has been endorsed and applauded by Ani Difranco, The Black Eyed Peas, The Huffington Post, Upworthy.com, The Advocate, Curve Magazine,  plus many more. She has shared the stage with Jamie Foxx, Metric, Cake, Semi Precious Weapons, Juliette Lewis, Beth Hart among others.

Danielle married Alicia Champion in May of 2014 on their ten year anniversary. They adopted their son, Xander Lucian, at birth in 2011 through San Diego County Child Welfare Services.

In 2001 Danielle LoPresti founded Say It Records, an independent activist record and production company, out of a 7 year journey making her living writing and recording for The Nutty Professor, Sony Jazz, VH1, Lifetime, Clear Channel, and a long list of Independent Film, TV and Recording projects in the mainstream music industry in Los Angeles. Say It Records has provided a platform from which Danielle has been able to defy the myth that popular music must avoid or "water down" socially conscious themes in order to be entertaining.
