"First Listen: Danielle Martin is "The One""

(May 7, 2017) -- New York based singer/songwriter Danielle Martin is a storyteller who puts vivid and painfully honest scenarios to music.

This up and comer chooses to tell the story of how insecurity and love conspire to allow a woman to be the fallback chic in the acoustic track “The One.” The song tells a story that is a reality for many people. Perhaps someone is the so-called side chic that a guy can’t take in public because he has too much to lose with his real family. Perhaps the guy would rather keep the relationship clandestine for – ahem – aesthetic reasons. Regardless Martin captures the anger the comes with the realization that someone views you as an object to be used and hidden.

Martin has a powerful vocal instrument that she uses to searing effect on “The One,” but also check out the YouTube videos of her voice and guitar renditions of songs such as “Mary Did You Know,” and “You Know I’m No Good.” - www.soultracks.com

"Danielle Martin – The One"

New York City-based “alternative Soul” singer/songwriter Danielle Martin releases her first single called “The One.”

Produced by Sonatic Music Group, the song has a smooth-sweet, bouncy, summer time feel against a clean acoustic track. Mixed with her soulful voice and brooding lyrics, the song captures a perfect painting of feelings of inadequacy and heartbreak that come with being in a unstable relationship. - www.singersroom.com

"Danielle Martin – The Wanting"

Last we heard from NYC-based artist Danielle Martin was back in April with her soulful offering “The One.” Now she’s back with a new one called “The Wanting,” a song written by Martin and produced by Marques Durieux and Sonatic Music Group.

The song is a stripped-down acoustic track dealing with heartbreak and feelings of just not being enough for your significant other. “When my lights stay dim, and my body’s over, will you still be here?” Martin sings in her distinctive voice on the opening lyrics of the song. - www.singersroom.com

"Danielle Martin Dazzles With A Unique Voice"

"Danielle has the vulnerability of Amy Winehouse, the feel of Corinne Bailey Rae and the tone of Lianne La Havas, but a style and charm that's all Danielle Martin." - www.Britznbeats.co.uk

Bio

New York based ‘Alternative Soul’ singer, songwriter, and actress DANIELLE MARTIN is no stranger to the mic. In her short career, she has developed a dedicated following as a result of her powerful, yet sultry vocals, and thought-provoking lyrics. Writing her first song at just 12 years old, she quickly gained a knack for creating melodies and imaginative storytelling. Seven years later, Danielle was introduced by a college friend, (MC Enigma of trilingual hip hop collective Negros Americanos) to DJ IRS, with whom she would later go on to collaborate. Setting up shop in IRS’s kitchen pantry, these two would end up recording early demo’s for several songs that later appeared on her debut EP.

In November 2017, DANIELLE released her debut EP Wanderlust produced by Sonatic Music Group and Marques A. Durieux. The lead single "The One", released earlier that May with accompanying music video, has been described as, "vulnerable and transparent”, as well as, "sweet and soulful". The song captures perfectly the feelings of inadequacy and heartbreak that come with being in a unstable relationship. Danielle has gone on to gain notable press from sites such as singersroom.comfunkadelicstudios.comsoultracks.com, and britznbeatz.co.uk. Most recently, Danielle performed as the opening act for the legendary R&B group BoyzIIMen at NJ bergenPac. Other notable performances include: Rockwood Music Hall, Bronxnet TV, Garden State Plaza Mall, Gramercy Theatre, Harlem’s Summer On The Hudson, Arlene’s Grocery, and Silvana’s.

This year alone, DANIELLE has appeared on three separate new projects, collaborating with a whole slew of new artists. The new single “Lights” by indie soul singer and guitarist Jonny Parks, “Blue Lagoon” by Brooklyn based rock band Crimshaw on their debut album “Monsters”, and lastly her first foray into house music, “Brave”, which is Danielle’s latest single in collaboration with Producer/DJ Moon Rocket and remixed by Italian Afro House DJ and producer Moblack. With her unique vocal stylings and heartfelt lyrics, DANIELLE is definitely a performer to watch.
