Album released internationally … Bloemfontein gospel sensation Danielle Stilo is taking the world by storm.
Sensational gospel songstress Danielle Stilo from Heidedal, Bloemfontein recently released her debut album called Walking in Victory. The album is the first international release by Starsworldwide.
Stilo, who comes from a musical family, has been singing since the age of three. According to her, the album “has a bit of everything”.
“It took us three to four months to finish recording the album. It’s a gospel album, but we made sure it has a bit of everything from smooth jazzy sound to R’n’B. There is something for everyone.”
Stilo is part of the S.T.A.R.S. (Striving to Achieve Real Success) programme which is aimed at finding talented teens whose dreams are to have a successful career in the music entertainment business.
The programme was founded by producer Chris Powell, an internationally acclaimed producer who has worked with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Rick James, Paula Abdul, and Destiny’s Child.
The S.T.A.R.S programme has young musicians all over the world. They recently came together to record a song in tribute to former South African president
Nelson Mandela.
The song, Freedom, was written by Stilo and composed by Levante du Preez. Proceeds from the song’s sales will be donated by Starworldwide to schools in Heidedal.
Andrew Peters, who is in charge of the recording company that produced Stilo’s album, believes the album possesses a sound that will touch millions of people worldwide.
“I first recorded Danielle in 2009. She wrote and recorded a song called Life is Worth Living within an hour and I could see this was a rising star. Her current album is an incredible display of superb raw talent.”
Stilo’s album is available digitally on Starsworldwide.org, CD Baby, I-Tunes, Amazon, as well as Reverbnation. Hard copies of the album are available at Rebel Music in Twin City, Heidedal. - The Weekly

23-year-old Gospel music sensation, Danielle Stilo, began humbly in her hometown of Heidedal, Bloemfontien, Free State (South Africa). Born into a family that is over flowing with musical talent, it was no surprise to those close to the songstress that a career in Gospel music has become a reality. Danielle, who began singing at the tender age of three, has entertained thousands via corporate functions, weddings, parties, and church functions as well as with various live bands and groups. When she decided to spread her wings and fly solo, she put pen to paper and wrote her debut CD entitled “Walking in Victory” which was released internationally via the STARSWorldwide label in 2011.

Danielle began working on her debut in 2009, and within a few months, her project was completed. Her raw talent and inspirational lyrics impressed the seasoned staff of S.T.A.R.S. “I first recorded Danielle in 2009. She wrote and recorded a song called ‘Life is Worth Living’ within an hour and I could see this was a rising star. Her current album is an incredible display of superb raw talent,”. “Walking in Victory” has a variety of styles contained within its 14 tracks. There is a touch of jazz…a sprinkling of RnB…a cameo of Blues…there is something for every ear. This project is destined to spread the Good Word to millions worldwide.

As a born-again Christian, Danielle states that she was inspired to create the CD due to her love of music, and her love of God. In 2009, after performing at a seminar, she stated that her music is her way of giving back to the Lord for all the blessings and talent that He has given to her. It is this level of faith that allows Danielle to be fearless yet grounded as she makes history as the first of twenty-one artists affiliated with S.T.A.R.S.* (Striving To Achieve Real Success) South Africa. With an ironclad will and unwavering faith, she continues to work in a store in order to provide for her young daughter as her CD gains popularity within her province and home continent.

Danielle, who [still] sings with the Pneuma Outreach Church worship team, was given the opportunity to write the song, “Freedom”**, in tribute to Nelson Mandela. The song, which was co-written and produced by Levante du Preez, was recorded in both the USA and South Africa. Stilo along with fellow S.T.A.R.S. participants in South Africa met their counterparts in the USA via “Skype” in late 2011. Danielle credits her inspiration for the song to her fellow countrymen and how they feel about the prolific Mandela.

Danielle Stilo is an artist to watch. She is merely at the opening chapter of her story and is already making headlines, capturing hearts, and winning over souls. There is so much more to come from this petite, melodic soldier in the King’s Army.
