The guitar player has released his first solo album
Carnaval de Perneta during Summer 2009. The CD
consists on a different view of the Brazilian Carnivals
music. Mixing it with Jazz Daniel creates a new sound.
This new album was presented during his last tour in
Europe during summer (2009) in Portugal, Finland,
Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania and
Serbia at festivals such as Copenhaguem Jazz, Arhus
Jazz, Haapavesi Folk, Ollesummer, Estii Konsert,
Nisville Jazz.
This album has got excellent reviews by
prestigious Brazilian musicians such as: Guinga
(Guitar
genius!)

Daniel Marques is a professional Brazilian guitar
player. He was born (1979) and lives in Rio de
Janeiro and has developed his own rhythmic and
energic style strenghtened by percussions. This also
can be noticed in his own compositions usually
performed on his solo project called DANIEL
MARQUES DUO with the famous pandeiro (Brazilian
tambourine) player Sergio Krakowski.
The young guitar player has graduated on guitar
at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and
holds a Master´s degree in the same university with a
thesis on performing and acompanying frevo - music
style traditionally associated with carnival in
Northeastern Brazil. He has been engaged in Brazilian
instrumental music workshops at universities and
music schools in Latin-America and Europe.
The abundant bagage of rhythms in his music
consists of modern developed variations of traditional
rythms like samba, bossa-nova, choro, maracatu,
frevo, baião
among others.
He has performed and recorded with Brazilian top
artists such as Hermeto Pascoal, Paulo Moura, Guinga,
Carlos Malta, Robertinho Silva, Zé Paulo Becker,
Nelson Faria, Gilson Peranzzetta, Mauro Senise,
Nicolas Krassik, Armandinho, Orquestra Popular do
Recife, UFRJAZZ, Armando Lobo, Jovino Santos
Neto...
DANIEL MARQUES was invited two times to
perform at the birthday event of the CROWN
PRINCESS VIKTORIA OF SWEDEN, on 14th of July,
2008 and 2009. Those concerts were broadcasted live
all over Europe.
