Daniel Parish acoustic/country/rock singer, songwriter, and entertainer. His irresistable Southern charm is captured in his songs about life, love and experiences living on the Carolina Coast. His music has mass appeal at the intersection of country, rock and acoustic Americana pop.

Biography

Daniel Parish entertains audiences young and old with his authentic Coastal Carolina acoustic-country-rock Americana pop music. His live performances give a feel good energy to the venues he plays. Daniel delivers the sunny warmth of the Carolina Coast to country-lovin' folks who enjoy friends, family, and relaxation.

Since his first live show at age 17, Daniel Parish has been a gem in the Wilmington, North Carolina sea of tourists, college students, and re-locators. With explosive growth in SE North Carolina it can be rare to come across someone born and raised in Wilmington. He is a true Wilmingtonian.

Daniel Parish loves Wilmington.

He says, " I have the best of my two favorite worlds. In ten minutes I can be in the ocean trying to catch a wave or a fish, as well as ten minutes away from my favorite tree stand waiting on the natural high of spotting a big buck."

He found the late 70's model Yamaha acoustic, his mom used to play, in the back of a closet when he was 13 and by age 15 he was writing and singing songs. Daniel Parish won the first song writing competition he entered sealing the deal that his God-given gifts and talents were being put to proper use. He went on to win two other songwriting competitions that same year and placed in 3 others.

His original songs about everyday people, doing everyday things, and experiencing everyday struggles are what charms his audiences. His music is winning the minds of men and the hearts of the ladies, and making kids smile.

When asked to comment on what its like to be a songwriter living in Lower Cape Fear River region he replies:

"There's just something about those star-filled nights, the roar of the ocean and that salty air that gives you that.....'everything's gonna be OK' feeling..... makes it almost easy to be inspired and write something that describes this laid back setting. There's no place like home."

Now with his newest CD release, entitled "Too Much" he is setting his sites on sharing his songs with the rest of America visiting towns, cities, and venues looking to embrace his authentic Coastal Carolina acoustic-country-rock music.

The Masonboro Song

Written By: Daniel Parish

The Masonboro Song

Well it’s a beautiful day it’s great to be alive
Let’s put the boat in the water grab the hydro-slide
And play around in the Masonboro sound in the sunshine
Drop a line for a bottom fish thank my lucky stars
For granting this wish
Today’s the day I can finally say oh I’m happy here

Let’s throw the anchor on the hill cause that sounds nice
Let’s cook cheeseburgers in paradise
Cause here we are again my friends at what we call our own Holiday Inn
And I know I’m going to be alright I’ve got my toes in the sand and my eyes shut tight
The winds blowing through my hair
A peaceful feeling without care

Chorus:
I’m happy here in the sunshine
I’m happy here thinking of good ole times
I’m happy here in the sunshine
I’m happy here making good ole times

Kicked back in the sun in my green lounge chair
A fishing pole and a nice cold beer
I look around not a cloud in site and I’m laid back getting my mine right
Watching kids build castles in the sand
Sneak around a dune and take a toke with a friend
Cause I know I’m gonna be alright got my toes in the sand my eyes shut tight
The winds blowing through my hair
A peaceful feeling in this salty air

Chorus

Well it’s a beautiful day it’s great to be alive
We put the boat in the water and rode the hydro-slide
And played around in the Masonboro Sound in the sunshine
Dropped a line and caught a few fish
Thank you lord for granting my wish
Today’s the day when I can finally say
Oh I’m happy here…

Too Much

Written By: Daniel Parish

Too Much

I wish I had a dollar for every time that I wondered
About things in my life that just don’t seem right
Cause then I’d be a rich man but even then would I be fine
Well maybe I’m just living with too much on my mind

There’s too much smoke around me and too much to numb my pain
I guess that’s the way I’ve been living
I guess that some things need to change
Maybe I’m just a worrier
Or maybe just afraid of time
Or maybe I’m just living with too much on my mind

Chorus:
And there’s just too much on my mind (x4)

Now if you’ve got ambition my friend
Then happiness you will see
And all the power and satisfaction
Within the life that you will lead

You see the lord has taught me a lesson
About being caught in the wrong situations
Now I sit at home so damn alone

Maybe I’m just a worrier
Or maybe just afraid of time
Or maybe I’m just living with too much on my mind

Chorus:

Bridge:
Now I know that nothing stays the same
Now I know that things can always change
If I could be more patient
And keep my head in line
Then maybe all this pressure
Will smooth out with time….

Chorus:

Some People Say

Written By: Daniel Parish

Some People Say

Some people say that love washes away all of your pain
I know it’s true it’s washing me
Some people say that love washes away all of your pain
I know it’s true it’s washing me

Like a flower needs a rain
Like a dreamer needs a dream
I must confess I need your love

Now I know that I’m still afloat
And I hope this feeling never goes away
And some people say that love washes away all your pain
I know it’s true it’s washing me

Like a passer by needs a lane
Like a traveling man needs a slow box-train
I must confess I need your love

Now I know that I’m still afloat
And I hope this feeling never goes away
And some people say that love washes away all your pain
I know it’s true it’s washing me

I know that life goes on
I found your love and it’s made me strong
No matter how much pain I receive
I found your love and it’s washing me

Some people say love washes away all the pain I know it’s true it’s washing me

Country Friends

Written By: Daniel Parish

Country Friends

Oh here I am its six o’clock in the morning
And I’m heading to an ole fishing hole
I can see the fogs a lifting the waters nice and slick
I can’t wait to cast my new fishing pole
I thank the lord for my day
Oh and that I get to spend it this way
I know this is the life for me
Away from the noise in the city
Oh and I oh and I

Chorus:
I’d rather catch a big bass I’d rather hunt a big buck
Drive through the mud and get my pickup stuck
Flow with the wind do it all over again and again
And again and again with my country friends

Oh here I am I’m gonna climb in my stand as the sun goes down this evening
When that buck walks by I’m gonna catch a natural high
Lord what a wonderful feeling
I know this is the life for me
Sitting so high in this ole pine tree
Away from the noise in the city
There’s nothing for me in the city
Oh an I oh and I

Chorus:

See I love the country
And I know this is the life for me
See I love the country
And being away from the noise in the city
Away from the noise in the city

Chorus:

Pride

Written By: Daniel Parish

Pride

When I come running you better be hiding
Cause what I need is a little bit of love
When I start talking you better start walking
Cause what I need oh I just can’t get enough
Are you a heart breaker cause I ‘m a dream maker
And there’s something about the way you smile
And are you alright maybe meet you on a Friday night
I’m sure we can make this worthwhile

Chorus: and all I’ve got …..is a little bit of pride

Now look at all these people around me everybody’s going there on way
I’ve got one fresh pack of Marlboro lights and guitar I love to play
I’m gonna write one gonna write one tonight
And I’m gonna sing one gonna sing one tonight
Hope you like it and if you don’t that’s ok
I’m still gonna play it I’m gonna play it anyway

Chorus:

Bridge:
Now I’ve been thinking of a time
Left all my troubles behind
And as you all go
I just wanted you to know that all I’ve got is a little bit of pride

So realize that I’m gonna try
I’m gonna roll one up so high so high
And when I’m forgetting all that stress
I’m gonna find a little road way
Out of this mess (x2)

Superman

Written By: Daniel Parish

Superman

Lately it’s been so hard
I try to tell you
You’re the only thing on my mind
I’m going crazy

Look into my eyes
Can’t you see what I’m going through
I’m standing in a mirror looking for my face
But all I see is you

Chorus:
And that’s ok
That’s alright
Long as you stay with me
One more night
I want to be your superman

Now you told me you’re a dreamer
You know I ‘m a dreamer too
All day all night
Well I’m always dreaming about you
And you act like you don’t care anymore
Well I’m sorry for all those things I said before
I don’t think you understand
The way I feel for you

Chorus:

Bridge:
Maybe you just need me to leave
Say what it is that you want from me
I came here today to try to make you see
And you won’t listen to me

Chorus:

All Night Long

Written By: Daniel Parish

All night long

I gently lay my hands on you
And whisper in your ear the things I’m gonna do
Make your wildest dreams come true
All night long

Now you lay still by my side
And I’ll pretend you’re a shore and I’m the rising tide
I’ll ease up to your lips
You’ll feel a tingle through your spine and out your finger tips
And I’ll paint pictures on your body with my tongue
All night long

Chorus: (x3)
And we’ll be making love all night long

Can you feel my heart
Because my heart it beats for you
I’m your number one listener
You just tell me what you want me to do and I’ll do
And baby, baby, baby together we can do no wrong
All night long

Chorus: (x3)

I want to lay here forever and never let you go
Just me and you together all night long

Round and Round

Written By: Daniel Parish

Round and Round

Well it’s been one year tonight since we sat by the campfire light
Telling each other all about the things we love
Under a star filled sky until the white moon
Been talking all afternoon about similarities
Between you and me

Now does it seem right that we fuss and fight all the time
About nothing all
Now doesn’t it seem wrong we’ve been off and on so long
Breaking up just to make up you got me shaking up
Leaving without no sound
And you’ve got me going

Chorus:
Round round and round you’ve got me with your love
Round round and round it’s in my head it’s what I’m thinking of

All the time just like sunshine on a rainy day and you can take my pain away
Now you know and I know you just can’t let me go
And I can’t let you go either
I don’t know how
And you’ve got me going

Chorus: (x2)

Bridge:
So tell me are you thinking of me
Because I know that together that’s how we’re suppose to be
So quit playing games
You’re driving me insane
And you’ve got me going

Chorus:

Pourin' Rain

Written By: Daniel Parish

Pourin Rain

She woke up this morning with her head hangin low
Said she spent all night fighting with her soul
She’s been running away from her fears and drinkin away her pain
And it’s hard for me to dry her tears when they are pourin like rain
Now oh I hope the sun is gonna shine today
Because I don’t want her to be angry anymore
I don’t think she can handle anymore

Chorus:
When it all comes down its like pourin rain
You take a good look around yeah and see that every thing is changing
And when it all comes down it’s like pourin rain
She takes a good look around and sees that everything is changing

And I’ve thought about it all that she’s worried to long
I spend most of my days looking for the words to say
To pick her up when she’s feeling low and let her know that she’s not alone
And just to ease all her pain and just to stop all the rain
But now oh I hope the sun is gonna shine today
Because I don’t want her to be angry anymore
I don’t think she can handle anymore

Chorus:

I can see that something is weighing heavy on her mind
That’s why I’m here today to tell her that everything’s gonna be alright
We all go through these times when we’re a little bit lost in life
That’s why I’m here today to tell her that everything is gonna be alright
Because I don’t want her to be angry anymore
I don’t think she can handle anymore

Chorus:

Grow Up

Written By: Daniel Parish

Grow up

I woke up this morning with a guitar in my hand
Woke up this morning just a wondering where I am
It seems to me it must have been another crazy crazy night
It seems to me this is the story of my life
Woke up this morning in a room down in Myrtle Beach
With a note lying next to my head on my bed it said
Thank you for shaking my tree

Now I gotta say that I ain’t afraid of love
I just spend my time writing rhyme after rhyme
So I do not mess with that stuff
And over all you know I’m just living day by day
When the people ask me why oh why you know this is what I say

I say shut up I’m not ready to grow up, I’m staying tore up from the floor up (x2)

Chorus:
And I’ve got my head in a bottle again
And you’re asking me what for
And tonight I’ll tell you
That I don’t care anymore

Who’s that knocking at my door
Well I’m hoping it’s the lady I’ve been looking for
See it’s just me and I’ve got nothing to hide
And I want to get to know your sexual side
Let you ride when I’m home
Just remember that I can’t stay long
And when you ask me why I live this way
I’ll look you in your eyes and this is what I’ll say

I say shut up I’m not ready to grow up I’m staying tore up from the floor up (x2)

Quiturworryin'

Written By: Daniel Parish

Quituworryn

This is a time in my life
When me I feel like I’ve been used
See I can’t make up my mind
Seems this game I’m gonna loose
Looking out my window and I’m thinking of a memory
Of when me I was feeling oh so fine
In my mind I had time to think a little more clearly

Half my life I feel like I’ve been used
I think it’s time I realize what I’ve got to do
I gotta quit quit all my worryin
Yes I believe I gotta take a little time
Before time takes a hold of me

Now everyday I wake up to sunshine on my face
And it’s a great feeling to know that I’m alive
And you should feel the same way that I do
Make amends with all of your good friends
Don’t let the evil drag you in
Cause your alive and well
To tell another story about an
Experience

Hey there listen to me
When I say you’re all I need
Hey there listen to me
Quituworryin and take it easy
