Daniel Striped Tiger has always been about sharp turns. Since forming in 2003, the band hasn't stopped driving their sound into new territories, taking cues from Dischord and Gravity post-punkers in the nineties, contemporaries like Sinaloa and Ampere, and the experts in atmospherics on Temporary Residence, Ltd. It's an unlikely combination that makes for explosive, unpredictable, but thrilling results. From the jazzed-out, precocious energy of 2005's Condition to the monolithic dynamic contrasts of 2007's Capital Cities, the only constant has been a knack for unceasing reinvention. This commitment to expansiveness hardly ends with the record, however. Daniel Striped Tiger literally practices what it preaches when it comes to their dedication to keeping the DIY ethic alive with an intensity and love for their live show and their community as large as it is loud.

The Certain Stuff CD, out on Yellow Ghost Records, provides a sampling of their range, growth, and unpredictability through the years. Collected are non-album songs from their original CDep, the Desert Bird EP, the Live at Dead Air 11", and splits with They and the Children and Sinaloa. On the horizon is a split with Teenage Cool Kids, set to be released by Clean Plate and Protagonist Records.

Touring has included the USA, Europe, Australia, and Canada.
