Bio
Danish Anwar's brand of comedy draws from his experiences around the world, and the unique perspective that comes from residing in 5 different cities spread across 3 continents by the age of 20.
His distinct point of view has earned him numerous accolades, including a nomination at the 2012 Fresh Meat Showcase at The Second City, and a Top 10 spot in JFL42's Funniest Torontonian contest.
Audiences at every major comedy club in Toronto enjoy his political musings and socially-charged material on a regular basis, along with clubs in Ottawa and Montreal and numerous venues across Ontario and Quebec.
Aside from his monthly Political Comedy Showcase at Comedy Bar, he has also produced numerous comedy fundraisers for Occupy Toronto, Attawapiskat, Native Women’s Resource Center and the Animal Alliance, and has collaborated with comedians from Montreal to bring their formats to Toronto.
His current projects include a webcomic featuring Marc Emery as the PM of Canada launching this spring, and talking about himself in 3rd person.
