Biography

At 24, multi-instrumentalist Dann Friedman has already worked with many top names in the jazz world including Dave Liebman, Gerald Wilson, Rodney Whitaker (of Wynton Marsalis's Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra) and Paul Keller (of the Diana Krall trio). He has been featured with 60s rocker favorites the Boxtops as well as current jamband giant Umphrey’s McGee and Canadian Jive-Elektra recording artists the New Deal. Dann has shared the Massachusetts stage with members of local greats Soulive and Uncle Sammy. He spent the last half decade in Michigan where he performed with and studied under former Aretha Franklin music director Donald Walden. While in the Midwest he worked with members of Arrested Development, Parliament Funkadellic, the Calvin Richardson Band, the Benevento and Russo Duo and Ike Willis (of Project Object and Frank Zappa’s Mothers of Invention).
