Biography

Danny Gilmore has been a long time staple in the local music scene. This past year he had decided to go solo and write songs that he's been wanting to write for quite some time. Well that time has come. With the help of his family and many friends, he will be produced his own CD, called "My Own Road Home," that runs the gamut of his moods, thoughts, and experiences. It is expected to be released on June 2009.

This project started in February 2008 and features many of Alabama's best musicians, along with some help from Nashville session players.

Danny has also done studio session work for other artists in the Alabama region.

12 Bar Train

Written By: Danny Gilmore

Verse
You got me pumpin’ like a piston on a run-away midnight train
Well I’m shovelin’ coal, baby you’re the one to blame
You got me singin’ out loud just so I could hear your name

Chorus
Every time we kiss my heart’s on fire
Every time we touch I just get high

Verse
You got me spinnin’ like a wind mill in a hurricane
Well I’m overloaded baby you’re the one to blame
You got me singin’ out loud just so I could hear your name

Chorus
Every time we kiss my heart’s on fire
Every time we touch I just get high

Chorus
Every time we kiss my heart’s on fire
Every time we touch I just get high
Here come a train!

Another Shade of Blue

Written By: Danny Gilmore

Poets and the prophets And your marginal friends can’t get you through
Cocaine ain’t working and the pills you take don’t make you feel brand new
I spend all my money down on South Fairview Avenue
You can write on my tombstone another shade of blue

I met her in a bar she’s the kind of girl that painted on her smile
I’m living on beer and nicotine, she’s living in a state of denial
She required quite a lot but I could only give her a few
So she wrote me a letter and addressed it to another shade of blue

In’s and out’s of living, man they can really bring you down
Just like they always say heavy is heavy wears a thorny crown
It’s always hard to swallow when you bite off more than you chew
Well I called my doctor and he said son it’s just another shade of blue

If I ever get up to heaven, gonna walk right up to the maitre de
Looking in their eye asking why they did this stuff to me
I know what he will tell me as sure as Jesus was a Jew
Boy, stop complaining or I’ll show you another shade of blue
He said stop your complaining or I’ll show you another shade of blue
