Being told, “you’re wasting your time” hasn’t deterred Danny Hooper from reigniting a 20-year dream to become a household name as a Singer Songwriter in the Australian Music Industry.
The dirt track to music stardom is fraught with potholes and Danny Hooper is like any aspiring musician; he hasn’t dodged all of them. There have been near misses in talent quests, overriding family commitments, waning self-belief and numerous knock backs.
While Danny may have been prepared to admit defeat in the past, in recent years, he has discovered a mindset that will only entertain thoughts of success.
As Danny recalls: “The first producer I rang up said: ‘Danny, you’re wasting your time, you’re 39, you’ve got a family. Plus, it’s not what it’s cracked up to be, you’ll be living out of a suit case, it will take ages for the money to come in.” After finishing the conversation, he thought: “Bugger him. I want to do it anyway. It’s a dream of mine and he has no right to steal it from me.”

An enduring Singer Songwriter, Danny Hooper has pursued a career in music for more than 20 years. Regular family sing-a-longs and the gift of his father’s guitar at 10 years of age first sparked Danny’s love of music. Falling in love at 18 inspired his first song and since then he has received numerous accolades, both nationally and internationally, for his song-writing talent. Over the years, Danny has led a successful career in music performing regularly across the state. He frequents many interstate festivals and is always a favourite of festival goers due to his warm nature and sheer vocal and songwriting quality. His ability to involve his audience also makes him a stand-out performer. Danny is now achieving new levels of success with the release of his debut solo album The Legacy, which to date, boasts three Top 40 radio singles and two Top 40 video clips.
