Danny Leigh is a contemporary English Folk artist and acoustic singer/songwriter. He fuses Jazz and Soul into his sound and music to create a unique and interesting blend of genres and influences. He writes poetic, heart-felt songs about love and romance with a positive message. Uplifting melodies and subtle arrangements continuously building to a climax with a soaring piano, rhythmic acoustic guitar, grooving double bass and smooth, rustic vocal delivery with retro references.
His musical influences and inspiration come from artists such as: Nick Drake, John Martyn, Leonard Cohen, Damien Rice, Jose Gonzalez, Jeff Buckley , Bob Dylan, Bob Marley and the Daydream Club.
Danny Leigh self-released his debut six track EP Velvet Eyes on the 17th November 2010 which can be listened to on Spotify and www.myspace.com/dannyleigh. One of his songs has been featured on the 30:30 compilation album, which was released through Round House Records.
He is currently planning the recording of his next EP to be released later this year and has been booking regular gigs throughout Guildford and London supporting emerging artists such as: Jazz Morley and Leddra Chapman.
