The Great Parade

Written By: Danny Moore

The Great Parade won't go away, but it seems like it's making you smile. If you don't cry baby I won't cry tonight. A holiday is just another day - a good excuse to celebrate life. We can watch the day shoot up in flames just like it was the fourth of July. I got a couple of people that I can call friends but you've got the key to my heart. Let's go to the coast we can float under moon-lit stars. On the boulevard where we slept in the car, looking for change just to pay for the park. Well it's time like these that tell us who we are. So don't tell me that I ain't gonna' change 'cos I'm the one that's changing in the first place. Time is just a record and I've got the time in my hands. So...let's make a toast to an inside joke and tell the whole world all about the hoax. All I need is you and baby all you really need is me. I steal my kisses from you. I take my languauge from you. Everyone's got their drugs but they can't break through. So I'll put my money on you, I can't lose.

Ordinary Worm

Written By: Danny Moore

Wrap me up tight in silver. Pour kerosine on the sun. I just wanna burn don't wanna lay there in the dirt. When I die I'm just your ordinary worm. Moonlight is growing dimmer. High tide is rollin in with bottles and cans and shit the ocean washes in. I sent a message in a bottle of gin. And it's headed in your direction. It's perfectly penned. So don't be too scared to question that strong west wind. Oh no, that northstar's losing light. I know my way around here at night. Let's go my headlights burning bright. I've got to leave this place behind. I've made up my mind.

American Highway

Written By: Danny Moore

Well I moved to an apartment on the outskirts of town to lay my head for a while. I've got a sweet southern girl with a heart full of gold, a guitar, and a bottle of wine. Morning wakes me up when she shines through the room with a golden alarm clock of light. I clinch to the time that we all take for granted and ride it on into the night. I'm racing all the time; while I'm lying on the floor. Just looking back on old photographs taped to a time in the past. And I don't really think we oughta go. They spread the disease just to sell you the cure. They've all got something to sell. Like the men with religion are promisin' heaven but god damn, they're giving me hell. Time is like a record just running in circles, designed to revolve like the moon. You can sit back and listen and escape the prison, but we all eventually do. I dont think we oughta go back down that road we're traveling on. Outside in the pouring rain lets sing a song to take me back to the pain on the American Highway.
