Biography

New Jersey recording artist and activist Danny Rongo’s most recent cd
‘Two Songs – Two Causes’ is just that! Danny chose the songs that he wrote for two of his most coveted causes. ‘Say Thank You to a Veteran’ is dedicated to all of our U.S. veterans young and old who have served our country. Danny continues to perform and raise money for New Jersey’s veterans through a local support group called VETWORK. Please visit them at www.vetwork.org.

“Where to Now?” is Danny’s re-released version of his global warming song he originally wrote back in 1991. He continues to work hard as an activist using ‘Where to now’ as a vehicle to continually raise awareness for this growing concern.

These two songs feature outstanding productions by two of today’s most sought after Producers. Steve DeAcutis from NJ produced 'Say Thank You to a Veteran' and is a long time friend and band mate of Danny. And from the UK Simon Harrison created a masterful orchestral arrangement in producing 'Where to now?’

Although the CD features full band arrangements, Danny typically performs his music as a solo artist by singing and accompanying himself on his acoustic bass guitar. Often compared to ‘James Taylor meets Michael Buble with an edge’ this EXTREMELY RARE approach to entertaining has drawn praise from his fans and peers alike. His structured chords on the bass present a beautiful and deep tone that compliments Danny’s well rounded vocal abilities.

COMMENDATIONS FROM THE HONORABLE AL GORE AND U.S. SECRETARY OF VETERANS AFFAIRS ERIC SHINSEKI
Danny has received commendations on 'WHERE TO NOW?' from former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and on 'SAY THANK YOU TO A VETERAN' from U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki

As he continues writing for specific causes with intentions to give back to society, Danny’s set list includes songs he wrote for cancer patients, survivors of 9/11 and many more compositions said to be “Soul tugging and Inspiring”.
Although not a veteran of our armed services, Danny is a long time veteran of New Jersey's music scene. Having performed in numerous club bands and recording acts from the late 70's through today! Danny lists all of his shows along with music, video tracks and other information on his website. Danny also serves proudly as a board member of The Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation (www.jsjbf.org). PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THIS CD WILL GO DIRECTLY TO VETWORK

Where To Now?

Written By: Danny Rongo

Used to see all of the seasons changing
Now it seems skies are just rearranging
Patterns and signs that our air is fading
From us, you see. And I can hear the children asking…

Where To Now? When rainbows are crying
It seems somehow, we’re not really trying now.

Pictures of winter are all behind us
As unguarded rays in the summer blind us
The comfort of spring and fall’s just a memory
To me you see, and I can hear the children asking..

Where To Now? When rainbows are crying
It seems somehow, we’re not really trying.
Where To Now? The planet’s been shouting
It seems somehow, more people are doubting now

And please, remember it’s all we have here
And when you hear a child asking you can tell them…

Where To Now? When rainbows are crying
It seems somehow, we’re not really trying.
Where To Now? The planet’s been shouting
It seems somehow, more people are doubting now.

Where To Now?

Say Thank You to a Veteran

Written By: Danny Rongo

“Say Thank You to a Veteran”

VERSE 1
Imagine all the things you take for granted swept away,
And all you thought you had was gone.
Imagine times have changed, you face an unprotected day
But that’s not so, please take the time

CHORUS
And Say Thank You to a Veteran
Reach out and shake their hand
And know that you can sleep at night
They fought to save our land.

Say Thank You to a Veteran
For how they served us all
We know that freedom has a price
And they’re the special ones that took the call.

VERSE 2
Remember holidays with family members by your side
And all the love you shared with them.
Remember wondering if those who served did not decide
To sacrifice for everyone

REPEAT CHORUS

BRIDGE
Now we see so many need our help, it’s a chance to serve them now
Understanding that they fought for us, we must fight for them somehow.
All together we can make a change,
We can sacrifice for them, pay the price for them, let our love for them shine.

REPEAT CHORUS

Find Pollyanna

Written By: Danny Rongo

“Find Pollyanna”

It isn’t you, this blackened sky
This uninvited foreign mass that makes you cry
It’s not your heart; it’s not your soul
It’s not the love you feel inside that makes you whole.
It’s only here, but not for long – Find Pollyanna

You have a choice, unlike us all
To cast aside the pain and fear or face the fall
You have to know, beyond belief
‘As you think so shall you be’ is your relief
‘This too shall pass’, you’ve made a choice – Find Pollyanna

You’re indestructible, hope will win
Refuse to let any other thought in
Endure, persist, love won’t resist.

Find Pollyanna

You heard it’s gone, that blackened sky
And now its life and all its wonders make you high
You feel your heart, you trust your soul
You know that teaching what you’ve learned is now your role
So help someone, who needs to know – Find Pollyanna

I'll Hold You In My Heart

Written By: Danny Rongo

“I’ll Hold You In My Heart”

VERSE:
I never thought I’d face the day
Of living life without you and how I’d find my way.
I need to know that I’ll get by
So let me tell you how I’ll try…

CHORUS:
I’ll hold you in my heart
Cause that’s where love resides
The memories that we shared are all so safe inside

I’ll hold you in my heart
Because love never dies
That’s where you’ll stay with me and be my guide.

VERSE:
And staring at an endless night
I can’t escape this feeling and cannot make it right
I only know one place that’s true
So here and now I say to you.

CHORUS:

BRIDGE:
With each passing day I see the test of time
To remind me that you’ve not left me behind
And that what we shared before is still right here
It’s the knowing in my heart that keeps you near

REPEAT CHORUS:
