Bio

Danny Trashville is one of the best new artists to emerge from the "red dirt" music scene. Or as we at UIM call it, "ya'll-ternative (yes, it's an acceptable spelling of this made up word)! Danny was born in central Oklahoma's red dirt country, not far from where it all began with Bob Childers, considered by many to be the father of red dirt music. Danny has drawn some of the same comparisons to artist like Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie. Add in a little Steve Earle and Roger Miller and you can get close to the Trashville style. He's been called "a bluegrass Bob Dylan" and " a modern day Woody Guthrie". Danny's approach to songwriting is a lot like Woodys'. He's traveled from state to state with nothing but the clothes on his back and his guitar, writing raw, honest songs. Songs that make you laugh, cry, sing along, and maybe wanna' get up and dance.
Being the son of a singer/songwriter, it was inevitable that his family pack up and move to Nashville, which they did when Danny was 8. There, he was exposed to many different styles of music. He absorbed it all, soaking it up like a sponge. He was fortunate enough to meet and and hang out with some of music's lengendary performers and songwriters. He could be the only artist who can say he's been in a boxing match with Waylon Jennings, and won! Though only 8 at the time, Waylon left a mark on the young Trashville that he still carries with him today. While growing up in music city he went through various stages with his music as all artists do, before finding his own style. We call it "that Trashville sound". A style that many believe was thrown in the trash in favor of today's "new country" sound.
Danny Trashville's self-titled debut cd features veteran musicians Al Perkins, Eugene Moles, George Pirelli, among others, along with Trashville's own unique pickin' style. The cd offers up some of Danny's best tunes delivered in a raw and unpolished state. The fact that we were able to lasso him into a recording studio is a miracle in itself. Why? Because Danny Trashville is a true artist who lives and breathes his music. He doesn't want to be a country music "pretty boy". He just wants to sing and play! And we want you to listen! Woody would be very proud, and so would Waylon.
