Danny Weizmann
Huh?
Who dat?
Well.
This group was something like a "white version of Kid Creole and the Coconuts". They played in a diverse set of styles ranging from Jug band, Reggae, Bobby Darin/Frank Sinatra Style "Vegas Schlock", Disco, Funk, Jazz and more. (It was some GREAT stuff). They even did a cover version of the great 1970's Classic Soul song "PILLOW TALK" by Sylvia Robinson. - Earthjuice

Bio
In true show biz fashion, Danny Weizmann has been wowing the crowd since the tender age of 3.
One half Moroccan and one half Coney Island, Danny's parents met on a Mediterranean boat ride from France to Israel. Danny was born in Ashkelon during the Six Day War in the Summer of Love. At the age of one he moved to Hollywood, California, and by six he had begun his full-blown stage career tapping with Al Gilbert Studios and studying performance at Lee Strasberg Theater Academy.
In his early 20s, Danny fronted the 12-piece hip hop outfit Double D Nose, which toured the states and opened for such stupid fresh acts as De La Soul, Fishbone, and DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. He also performed solo, opening for Beck, X, Pat Smear, the Chili Peppers, and others. His two solo spoken word/music records on the legendary SST label received Pick of the Month from CMJ and airplay from Paris to Vegas.
In '97, Danny returned to Manhattan to study music theory with 93-year-old Helen Hobbes Jordan, former president of Julliard and mentor to Tony Bennett, Bette Midler, Melissa Manchester, David Sanborn and many others. Under Helen's very, very, very strict tutelage, he began the songwriting that led to this dazzling album.
Produced by Christian Nakata, of Ruth Ruth and Suzuki Beane, Danny Weizmann features performances by some great musicians including Dan Shulman (Garbage), Abby Travis (Beck, Elastica), Jenni Muldaur (Angry Elves), and premiere Theramin virtuoso Pamelia Kurstin. It also features a blazing Latin jazz vibraphone solo by Danny's doorman, Tito Martinez.
The CD has been selling copies and getting raves from Tokyo to London to Vegas to Paris.
Meanwhile, Danny and his band have been dazzling Manhattan audiences through the summer of 2002, with a high-energy stage show that wins over every kind of crowd.
