Bio

Dan O'Dea cut his teeth in the eclectic music scene of Downtown New Brunswick, NJ, a bustling college town enjoying a thriving urban renewal. With many upscale restaurants doubling as night clubs, and landmark rock club The Court Tavern, Dan was able to perform with a wide variety of musicians in styles ranging from jazz to latin, folk to rock, but finally found his stride in bluegrass music. He has jammed onstage with Clarence Clemmons of the E Street Band, The Zen Tricksters, Jason Hahn of String Cheese Incident, and Salsa superstar Johnny Pacheco. Dan has shared bills with Dicky Betts of the Allman Brothers, Levon Helm of The Band, The Avett Brothers, and countless major bluegrass acts such as Del McCoury Band, Rhonda Vincent, James King Band, David Peterson and 1946, Charlie Waller and The Country Gentlemen, and Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver.
