Italian-Canadian singer/songwriter, from Toronto, plays guitar, piano, and writes heart-wrenching poetic lyrics. He has spent over half his life dedicated to his music, expressing himself openly and honestly. His major influences are as diverse as the introduction. He credits Joni Mitchell as the reason he ever picked up a guitar. Other influences are Prince, Sade, Marvin Gaye and John Mayer. He has just finished a two-year project that might just be his greatest accomplishment yet.
Dantes natural gift for writing poetic lyrics is an inspiration to all. He has worked in England, Toronto and Los Angeles. The latter is where he began writing Brighter Days (his first debut album). Returning from L.A. he worked on a variety of projects, some of which involving Alanis Morisette and Gord Deppe of The Spoons.
Brighter Days hit the charts at #5 on Energy 108s Top 10 at 7 on the request lines as well as their Top 50 Countdown. The video for this song debuted on Electric Circus and received quite a bit of airplay on Much Music. He performed across Canada, captivating audiences with his enthusiastic, sensual performances.
Kicking In The Ghosts is a diverse collection of the artists life work. The opening song The Key is a music box confession of love. It is extremely honest, raw and emotionally charged. The different styles range from raw acoustic sounds to full production songs. The beautiful, angelic sound of Enjoy Your Youth is a nostalgic journey through childhood. Added to the album is a highly creative cover version of Bruce Springsteens Hard to Be A Saint in The City. From beginning to end this eclectic collection of spirit and sensuality is guaranteed to capture you.
Dante has been currently performing across Canada promoting his CD with an exceptional band including Garfield Stoddard, on guitar and background vocals, Jeremy Klayhanz on drums, Fernando Maar on bass. ISAX on Saxophone and James Pew on Keyboards
Dante is working on his newest cd THE NAKED TRUTH scheduled for release in 2006
