Bio

Started by Shaurya Nanavati in a college apartment back in 2008, "The Joneses" sought to be the quintessential summer rock and roll band. The band enjoyed a modicum of success around campus - playing sets at club events, house parties, and opening the first Undie Run in Austin, TX (May 2008). However, upon the departure of the rhythm section in 2009, Shars decided to take a little break.

After a few years spent in hiding, he re-emerged in late 2013 with "Danton" and their first release "Texas Tea EP" - a short, sweet love letter to anthemic rock and roll.

Influenced in equal part by the cocksure swagger of Britpop legends and the melodic hooks of music's golden greats, Danton formed with the idea that music is relevant more in the feelings and emotions it invokes than those it conveys. Say what you will, but a simple melody, a catchy hook, and a memorable refrain can make even the worst nightmare vanish without a trace. But the music can speak for itself.

Danton is the veil behind which emotions and logic unite, the complex is turned simple, and the resulting takeaways are fond memories of moments in time.

If laughter is the best medicine and life is just a game we play, memories of good times gone keep us moving on. And so we inch ever closer to kingdom come, with a choice to live in the past or for the moment.

So let your hair down and turn the volume up. Sing a song, sing along, life is the open road you’re driving on.

Major influences include Oasis, Blur, The Strokes, The Killers, The Beatles, Stone Roses, Kasabian, Hard-Fi, Coldplay, U2, Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard, Blondie, and Madonna.
