Bio

Dan Torres is a singer-songwriter of brazilian english descent. Born and raised in London, he moved to Rio de Janeiro in 2003 at the age of 24.
Within a year he was selected to take part in the music talent show “Fama” on Brazil’s largest television network “Globo”.
Following the program he was signed to Warner Records and released his debut album as part of the duo “Cidia & Dan”. The couple released three CDs and DVD’s in the space of four years and were rewarded with a gold disc for sales superior to 50,000 copies of their successful project “Duetos Romanticos”, re-recordings of some of the worlds most famous duets.
In 2009, the singer-songwriter focused on his solo career and released his first solo album, the self entitled “Dan Torres”.
Parallel to this release he continued to be in demand as a vocalist and was commissioned many times to record songs for the very famous brazilian television soap operas. Some of the tracks he recorded included, “Lay Lady Lay” by Bob Dylan, “Begin The Beguine” by Cole Porter and most recently, “Solitary Man” by Johnny Cash.
Currently Dan Torres is launching his second solo album, “Bring It Around”. A pop record with touches of rock and soul, the singer cites his musical influences as Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and James Taylor.
The first single off the record, “Calling”, currently playing on Rio’s top radio stations is attracting interest from all around and is surely a signal of intent of whats to come.
A singer-songwriter of great pop songs with a great sounding album, Dan Torres is surely one not to be missed.
