Dan Woods is an enthusiastic young performer whom I met at a Riverfront Festival in Windsor, Ontario.
It was my task to introduce the various acts. There were several “no shows”, and Dan was asked to play well beyond his set time.
He did so without hesitation, pulling song after song out of his musical hat.
Dan kept the crowd so well entertained that I doubt anyone missed the performers who failed to show

Powerful vocals framed by a raw acoustic guitar backing are the trademark of Dan Wood’s solo performances. Weaving an aggressive Dave Matthews / Our Lady Peace styling into a unique presentation, his performances are audibly electrifying with an animated stage presence.
Well versed in the entertainment scene in Ontario and as of late in the Windsor and Essex/Kent county area, he has appeared in such diverse settings as the Ruthven Apple festival, Leamington Tomato festival and Windsor’s Multi-cultural festival, where he garnered much acclaim for his standout performance of a notable mix of cover songs and original material. Dan has played to a wide range of entertainment establishments including Leamington’s Waterfront Bar and Grill, Jose’s Noodle factory, The Village Inn, and Bedrocks Bar and Grill. As well as Windsor’s Phog lounge, Barrelhouse, Automatic Slims, Rock Bottom and Martini Sky. Dan has also crossed the border to gain a small following in Plymouth Michigan playing at Boulder’s restaurant and bar.
With two highly praised songs on rotation at local radio station 96.7 fm CHYR and a top five showing out of 300 participants at the International Songwriting contest, Dan now finds himself on an upward trend both creatively and professionally. His songs express a vision for current social issues in an entertaining and stimulating manner.
