Danyroots

Roots are the principal elements in music for this open minded and very well trained musician.
Daniel Gomez start his musician career at 14 years old in school with the clarinet, then something happened, he discover the electric guitar.. Its hard to say but never before had an approach to the music till this moment when start to play and sing in a tropical band from school, in an alternated way he started to write the first songs and moved to the electric guitar.
Is the 1993 and Monteria, Cordoba, Colombia doesn't have a real approach to the music, the school of music isn't a very good one Daniel feels bored and lack of energy but he is learning.. he wants more.. In the next years just travel with school band as a singer of this tropical thing and in the mean time born his first Pop Rock band ... this was a very influential thing .. because he steps in the middle of two different ways but start to know the music..
The contrast of been singing Joe arroyo, Grupo niche, and too many more but in the other side been singing Mana, Enanitos Verdes, Caifanes, Soda Stereo, Pink Floyd .. makes him a click on his brain.
Daniel Finish the school and go to bogota for the year of 1998 to study music, he went to different schools of music and enter to the Javeriana School of music, a very renowned academy in Colombia, two years later he will quit for searching more influences, more experience, then he started a different process more academicism and very strange with particular teachers, but at the same time played with some partners of school and raise a new bands, for this moment, he was grown in a strong music fundaments and a very rich ear training, but more important, he rediscover the music and percussion of his own region, the Cumbia music, the Porro music, a very rich afro caribbean based music, with a very special colour and sound.
In the 2000 He was learning some miking and mixing techniques, learning how to use protools, Reason 1 and Digital Performer for this days .. but learning an amazing repertoire of folk music from colombia, and raising his percussionist skills and his guitarist skills too, playing in every event he could, winning some band contests, he was learning from his teachers how to be a director and a composer of electroacoustic music, a producer of popular music.
But something happened .. that search for sound, and music takes Daniel to make a profound investigation in culture /raizal/roots/ music giving him a more open vision of how to be a better musician in all aspects.. he founded for the year of 2003 the Irakabalaie project and starts a odyssey through the festivals and playing even the streets and busses ... growing in roots music and world music Daniel keeps going and made him a bussines administrator, bussines man, but keeps making music and keep going though the essential of the root .. what you consider today as world music..
Today a friend while he was recording in his cheap home studio the drums called him DANY ROOTS.. just fur fun.. but the name make a sound in his head .. so decide to call the project DANY ROOTS - COLOMBIA and born in september of 2012.
Today he switch his normal work bettwen selling plants and making music.. and is finishing in little steps this first work called the imperfect.
