The First Annual International Jazz Day will feature jazz luminary and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Herbie Hancock.
International Jazz Day, celebrated worldwide on April 30, will have its official kick-off at UNESCO Headquarters on April 27th. The UNESCO celebration, organized in cooperation with UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Herbie Hancock, will set the stage for a series of events to take place around the globe in the following days. The Day will bring together performers, educators, governments, experts, and fans alike, as they explore together the history, meaning, impact, and legacy of jazz music throughout the world.
In London, Jazzmo'thology, in its own distinctive style, adds to the occasion in association with MAP Music, Kentish Town the launch of the debut album 'Soulful Spirit' by DaPaul, Singer, Songwriter & Musical Visionary! This work is a labour of love and DaPaul captures a truth in compositions that resonate with each listener to entertain and move. Caribbean church roots nurtured his love for piano and singing. As a session musician and backing vocalist for highly acclaimed stars such as Alexander O'Neal, Des'ree, Jhelisa Anderson and Gabrielle amongst others, he has covered a diverse range - from Gospel, Soul, Blues and Jazz to Pop - carefully honing his craft over many years. He is about to share his gift on International Jazz Day!

DaPaul
DaPaul is a SoulJazz artist. As a songwriter DaPaul has worked with artists like Eternal, Gabrielle and Des'ree. The lyrical content of his songs has a unique honesty that reflects his own feelings about life experiences and gives a message of truth, love and hope for all.
DaPaul's roots hail back to a Caribbean church in London where he found and nurtured his love for the piano and singing. His influences range from soul, jazz, gospel, blues & r&b. As a session musician and backing vocalist he has worked with; Eternal, Louise, MN8, Cleopatra, Alexander O'Neal, Jhelisa Anderson, Rhonda Thomas, Kloud 9, Des'ree and Gabrielle and has appeared on various TV promos; Jools Holland, GMTV, National Loterry Live, VH1, TOTP and the Montreaux Jazz Festival and The World Music Awards.
DaPaul has had the privilege of working with the UK's finest musicians, many of whom he has known for years in the industry. Being a live performer is the heart of DaPaul's world so quite naturally the production of his album celebrates the best of the UK's contemporary musicians.
