"PREMIERE | DAPHNE AND THE FUZZ"

Strong, poignant lyrics layered over a fantastic vintage pop aesthetic, inspired by jazz, with sprinkles of perfectly sizzled psychedelic guitar riffs and occasional synth breakdowns - which makes it all truly balanced and easy to digest. - IX Daily

"Daphne and the Fuzz – Burn Down Your House"

Dès les premières secondes on plonge dans un univers pop flamboyant à l’esthétique vintage avec des références jazzy et soul des plus entrainantes. Un brin de fraicheur musicale qui nous annonce l’arrivée du Printemps - WATM Magazine

"Daphne and the Fuzz Deliver Vintage Pop & Soul with ‘Burn Down Your House’"

Daphne and the Fuzz are the latest band hailing from the Greek capital, and after dropping their stunning debut song ‘Doop Doop’, the group return with a taste of classic pop, soul and a wee bit of psychedelic entitled ‘Burn Down Your House’. A marriage of polished instrumentation and catchy melodies..[...] - Colorising

"A bit of blues and soul, a lot of pop"

So, this debut, homonymous album of Daphne And The Fuzz bring together 10 songs, musical spirits of the past sixty years and now, with the freshness and youth of its creators. Having in their luggage any of the blues, the soul, the pop of the 60s, the sound of the mellotron, the Beatles of "Abbey Road", welcome today, assigning to it the remembrance of music history, through the chords of modernism.

"Traveling with a vintage pop emotion"

Retro pop melodies with dashes of blues and soul, jazzy moments, a groovy live rhythm section and dreamy mellotron arrangements are accompanied by the charismatic vocals of Daphne. Their songs are full of emotions, sensitivity, along with the innocence and frustration of a youngster facing the prospect of adulthood. ‘Burn Down Your House’ is the opening track of the album and the first video clip, directed and edited by Daphne herself with a… selfie stick (!), proving that this girl from Athens not only has composing and singing skills, but she is actually a multi-talented personality. - Last Day Deaf

"Daphne and the Fuzz – Burn Down Your House"

The music video for Burn Down Your House by Daphne and the Fuzz is an excellent example of doing more with less. Shot with a GoPro (or something similar), the video takes the point of view of the singer as she dances through a small apartment while singing tunes. Edited by Daphne Lz herself, the video relies on clever editing to create an imaginary world that perfectly matches the unique sound of the band. [...]Utilizing cheap technology, artists like Daphne can create wondrous worlds that fit their band’s aesthetic without needing to bring in costly outside help. - CreativeFluff Magazine

Bio

Daphne and the Fuzz were formed in the summer of 2012 in Athens, giving form and aesthetics to the tracks that Daphne composed until then solo at the piano. Their first single “Doop Doop” was a hit in the local radio stations and was included in Inner Ear’s anniversary compilation “INN Pop”.

Their debut self-titled album was released in 2016 from Inner Ear.

Vintage pop melodies that flirt with soul and blues, groovy basslines and dreamy mellotron arrangements, accompanied by lyrics that narrate stories about love, adulthood, expectations and big dreams make up the music genre of Daphne and the Fuzz.

Daphne And The Fuzz have performed at several Greek venues and festivals, including their opening for Lana Del Rey and Allah - Las at Rockwave Festival 2016.
