Mark and I met when I advertised for a guitarist for our other band Shiney. Somewhere along the line, we worked out we were born on the same day, same year. Now we're married and living in the burbs with a lovely brood and studio in our backyard where we put together our tunes. Our influences are pretty wide. Jo grew up initially influenced by her mum who had been a singer in a band in the 1960s, and so listened to a lot of the Everley Brothers, The Platters, The Beatles. Her dad was an opera fan. Mark grew up listening to Neil Diamond, The Beatles, Shirley Bassey and a lot of jazz. The both heard a lot of Ella Fitzgerald! Later on in life their influences included The Church, The Cult, Blondie, The Violent Femmes, The Clouds, Crowded House, The Police, Suzanne Vega, Travis and The Cure. More recently they've enjoy Clare Bowditch, Muse, Incubus, Elliot Smith, Old Man River and have been rediscovering The Beatles with their 2yo daughter
