Bio
Fully equipped with a musical arsenal that will blow you away, "Darker Shade of Red" (aka DSR) is set to take the world by storm. Riding high in the wake of their first EP release, "Faceless", this talented 5 piece band from Toronto, Ontario delivers their brand of edgy, "new rock" flavour to the masses, satisfying all who crave the high energy and rich sound this group abundantly possesses. DSR's excellent musicianship, which contains trace elements of Disturbed, Deftones and Collective Soul, meshes well with their energetic, in-your-face stage presence and has earned them gigs on several of Toronto's most coveted stages. Venues such as the Horseshoe Tavern, The Opera House and The Docks have seen DSR rock out to near-capacity crowds, and the guys definitely do their best to not disappoint.
Rising from the ashes of a previous project in 2003, DSR, formerly known as "Core", regrouped with a new name, a new lead guitarist (Antony Meta) and a new attitude, making a fresh start at transforming their wildest dreams into a reality. With much determination to succeed, Darker Shade of Red has toiled relentlessly, playing numerous shows and winning several local "Battle of the Bands"-type contests, not to mention winning over a legion of fans along the way.
After releasing their first EP, "Faceless", nationwide on November 18th 2005, DSR is now gearing up to heavily promote the fruit of their labour, with an Ontario-wide tour currently in the planning stages.
