Bio

Darkhalf was formed in the autumn of 2004 by Subconscious-X a.k.a "Digs", when he combined forces with one of the long term players in the Irish hip-hop underground scene in the 90's Schizophrenic. As a Hip-Hop producer Sub-X differs from many in that he is admittedly a musician first. Growing up on one of Dublin's notorious North-side schemes (projects) in Finglas (a black-spot for economic and social deprivation), has been the inspiration and driving force for Sub-X's dark and sometimes menacing beats, taking inspiration from the many musical genres that Sub-X has surrounded himself in since an early age. As a teenager Sub-X was a member of "Doomsgame" (one of Ireland's first Death Metal acts).

After leaving Doomsgame, Sub-X worked as a sound engineer, lighting and back-line etc. in the Irish Rock/Folk scene in Dublin. Coming from a well known family name in the Irish Music industry, Sub-X prefers that Dark Half Tera are judged on their own merits and not his family name (hence his refusal to name drop or use the blatant nepotism and cronyism that is sometimes prevalent elsewhere in Irish music) to forward his and Dark Half Tera's career.

It wasn't long before Terawrizt was attracting attention and in early 2006 he hooked up with a Canadian Hip-Hop group, D'Alliance, constisting of Wyze Intelect, Sinful Deeds and dCypha. It was on one of these tracks, "Tear Down the Wall", that caught the attention of long-term Irish Hip-Hop mogul and the profound Darkhalf producer Subconsious-X.

After asking Terawrizt if he'd be intrested in a collaboration on one of his beats, to both his suprise and amazement, the track was written, recorded and returned the next day. "All I Got Left" became an instant classic in the Irish Underground. Not long after Dark Half Tera was formed and the rest as they say is "History in the making". Terawrizt also appeared in Rap Irelands September 06 magazine in the "unknown, Up and Coming" section after only a few short months on the scene.
