Bio
Dark Horse began performing and recording at Syracuse University in the spring of 2004. The name was construed behind the concept of the underdog, the one that surprises you.
With a desire to stay versitile and draw from various musical influences, Dark Horse looks to return arena style rock to the forefront of American music.
The signature Dark Horse sound features a blend of alternative, progressive, classic rock, and grunge, but can best be described as an interbreed of Giangrande's early nineties fuzz with a variety of uptempo eclectic grooves provided by Nichols.
Debut album entitled "Queen Apathy", features everything from the Tool influenced progressive rocker "Bottom of a Bottle" to acoustic ballad "Say My Name". Giangrande connects with the emotional listener using an in depth first person lyrical narrative. He strives to be a contemporary voice in the present day, 2009, while remaining accessible to the average music listener. Dark Horse most importantly prides themselves on being an authentic band in an era of rock music that often lacks passion and finds itself without a true identity.
