While I'm reading their page, their music player starts. I hear the guitars playing and I instantly fell in love. So go check them out! Their name is Dark Iris. Dark Iris is an alternative band from Wasilla/Palmer, Alaska. The band's current line-up consists of frontman Larry Hansen, guitarist James Shuey, bassist Judah Morse and drummer Slayter Shuart. The line-up has remained the same throughout the band's existence with the exception of parting ways with former guitarist Jeremy Brannon. The band's style is characterized by melodic/aggressive dynamics in their music, accented guitar chords, fast drumming, hyper bass lines and clean vocal/scream transitioning.
Dark Iris has built their trademark sound by fusing a variety of different music genres such as alternative rock, pop punk, post-hardcore, emo, shoegaze, death metal, acoustic and metalcore together to make a style that is their own and to separate themselves from the other bands in the local scene. The band strive to achieve their goals and will not rest until they are all satisfied. Keeping a positive attitude in their personalities and in their music, Dark Iris plans to grow into something the world will love to listen to without falling into the commercial rock category.
