With the soulful up-tempo jazzy sound of the titled album Strawberry Lemonade singer and song writer Darnell Kendricks announces his thirst quenching, much anticipated debut onto the R&B/ Smooth Soul circuit.
Darnell celebrates love and being in love in Cant Wait as a sensual yet inviting way to convey his heartfelt testimony. He captures the saying absence makes the heart grow fonder and signifies that for him, sensuality is powerful.

Its this kind of old fashioned romantic attitude fused with an utterly modern sound that helps Darnell stand out in a crowded field of soul. Darnell currently has Willing, Strawberry Lemonade, and Jones In My Bones, in rotation at 107.5 WGPR Detroit. He has been interviewed by on air personalities, Maxine Michaels at 107.5 WGPR and Frankie Darcell of Mix 92.3 WMXD Detroit.
Darnell rocked the house at the Greektown Casino during the Motor City Music Conference. He received rave reviews for his performances at the Ribs N Soul Festival at Hart Plaza and JazzFest in Birmingham at Shain Park. His fans gave great support and he received many accolades for his CD Listening Event hosted by The Wall Street Café and 107.5 WGPR.
Darnell has been the subject of several articles including a write-up in The Detroit News Online Edition and The Urban Buzz, a newsletter for radio program directors. He was featured on Comcast Cable on Home Grown in Detroit.

Soulful, warm, hypnotic and passionate are just a few of the words that have been used
to describe the vocal styling of Darnell Kendricks, the newest voice to grace the soul
music community. With his musical roots steeped in Gospel, this California native has
taken his rich, seductive and hauntingly warm voice and set Detroit's music scene on
fire.
Darnell started singing at a very early age, and had such musical influences as the Clark
Sisters, Marvin Gaye, the Gap Band, Marvin Winans, Michael Franks and Larry Graham.
His passion for music has granted him the opportunity to share the stage with Karen
Clark-Sheard and others.
His lyrics are born from "life's inspiration" and clearly speak to humanity. Darnell's philosoo
phy is that "songs are already written in the Heavens, and artists are blessed to be vessels
to birth them into this dimension of life." His spiritual upbringing is apparent; a steadfastt
ness that has been passed down by his mother. The love and support of his family and
friends has helped Darnell deal with life's realities and blessings.
Having musical avenues in Jazz, Soul, Gospel and R&B, Darnell has no limits in his
approach to music, and wants to expand his writing to jingles and musical theatre in the
future. He also hopes to one day work with such musical greats as Twinkie Clark, Donald
Fagen and Michael Franks.
When asked what he wants people to get out of his music, Darnell replies
"I want people to feel good; to be inspired and uplifted, healed and determined,
hopeful, loved, and encouraged. My music would mean nothing if I wouldn't be able
to accomplish these things.
