Darragh McGann - The Singing Taxi Driver

Darragh McGann - The Singing Taxi Driver

BandChristianAdult Contemporary

Darragh McGann, the Singing Taxi Driver, performs concerts of easy listening songs and powerful classical arias. With his love of music on full show, Darragh endeavours to connect fully with his audience by sharing many of his personal experiences and bringing many of the best loved songs to life.

Darragh McGann, known as The Singing Taxi Driver, is Ireland's newest singing sensation
and is fast becoming a household name. In 2009, he found a national
audience for his talent through his appearances on The All Ireland
Talent Show and Seoige. Lovers of light entertainment can expect a
veritable musical feast as Darragh covers some of the best loved
songs from popular music, the shows and even the classical

Trained by the late Maeve Coughlan at Cork School of Music, Darragh has been enthralling audiences for many years with his unique cross over style and has had many rare opportunities to share his talent with others.

In 1995 while working as “Screen Double and Stand In” for Hollywood Legend, the late Marlon Brando, on the set of the ill-fated movie “Divine Rapture” Darragh was advised to do something with his talent by Mr. Brando, who had heard him singing one evening on set.

In 2009, Darragh had the honour of performing the Irish National Anthem before 50,000 people at the commencement of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin.

In May 2009, Darragh released his first solo album entitled "A New Beginning"

Since listening to the Album, I have been enthralled by Darragh’s voice. It is both melodic and powerful, evoking memories of days gone by. The sensational music and arrangements complement beautifully what is a stirring performance by the man from Cobh. As each familiar song washes over your senses you will find yourself swept away by the uniqueness of what is, so far, the defining moment of Darragh’s career.
With his own song-writing talents also on show this is an album packed with emotion, honesty, atmosphere and a dream-like musical soundscape that will leave you feeling very much a part of Darragh’s ‘New Beginning’.

Make A Wish

Written By: Darragh McGann

Make A Wish

Dreams are filled with wonder
Reaching far across from our imagination
As a child reaches for a Star
Let the dreams become reality
Put a smile on each child’s face

Make a Wish – it will come true
There is no mountain that is too high,
So Make a Wish – and you will fly
And in your heart you’ll find some peace
Just Make a Wish

Life is like adventure
Filled with Ups and Downs, many Lows and Highs
But as you gaze up to the skies
Seeing all of God’s creation
Let us bring some peace to a child.

Make a Wish – it will come true
There is no mountain that is too high,
So Make a Wish – and you will fly
And in your heart you’ll find some peace
Just Make a Wish

Make a Wish – it will come true
There is no mountain that is too high,
Lets Make a Wish – and you will fly
And in your heart you’ll find some peace
Just Make a Wish

And your Dreams will all…..come true.

Straight from the Heart

Written By: Darragh McGann

Straight from the Heart

The trees are all bare now
The leaves are all but gone
Another year has passed us,
But the show still goes on.

Time goes by so quickly
And things are left unsaid.
Feelings for eachother,
That never were expressed.

As I walk alone behind you,
I wish I was beside you.
Hold your hand so tightly,
I’ll never let it go…..

I want to sing straight from the heart,
Straight from the heart, and one day soon we will never be apart. (repeat)

The ships flow by on the river,
The fishermen sort their nets.
Birds fly high in the sky,
And yet I don’t know why?

Why you walked away from me,
When I told you how I feel.
Why I have to be alone again,
When you just me by.

I Saw Jesus Today

Written By: Brian O'Reilly

I Saw Jesus Today

I saw Jesus today in the city
There on the street all alone.
He looked so sad and lonely,
Standing on the pavements of stone.

He smiled as I came closer,
But I saw the pain in his eyes.
I wanted to stop and to help him,
But I just kept on walking by.

Does he always know where I’m going?
Does he really know where I’ve been?
Will he always be there before me?
And will I always walk away from him?

I saw him again sometime later,
As I was rushing for the train.
His eyes were looking straight at me,
But I just turned away again.

As I sit here in this bar-room,
The mirrored walls reflect my shame.
And when the cock will crow tomorrow,
I guess I’ll feel the very same.

For You

Written By: John Denver

For You Lyrics
Artist: John Denver

Just to look in your eyes again
Just to lay in your arms
Just to be the first one always there for you
Just to live in your laughter
Just to sing in your heart
Just to be everyone of your dreams come true

Just to sit by your window
Just to touch in the night
Just to offer a prayer each day for you
Just to long for your kisses
Just to dream of your sighs
Just to know that Id give my life for you

For you for the rest of my life
For you all the best of my life
For you alone, only for you

Just to wake up each morning
Just to you by my side
Just to know that you're never really far away
Just a reason for living
Just to say I adore
Just to know that youre here in my heart to stay

For you for the rest of my life
For you all the best of my life
For you alone, only for you

Just the words of a love song
Just the beat of my heart
Just the pledge of my life, my love, for you…….
