Bio

A straight shooting, angst ridden, musically inclined Devils apprentice who went to Hell and came back empty handed with a fist full of rage!

Starting off in the Independent Republic of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1980... And fortunate enough to be in The Seattle of Newfoundland, Stephenville offered the musical education that would become the foundation of which Darrells talents were erected. “I heard Jimi Hendrix's rendition of the Robert Zimmerman classic "All Along The Watchtower" when I was 15 and decided that I wanted to make music for the rest of my life...or make my LIFE into music...whatever came first.…” The decision was made for Darrell at this point already.

Playing in a lot of bands growing up, his first: FRICTION played the Newfoundland provincial battle of the bands in 2000. Scoring an honorable mention TOP 3 and Darrell won the "BEST GUITARIST" of the competition award...but who cares right???? THEY were on the 6 o'clock news!!!! And well on their way to 15 minutes of fame. The bug had bitten.

By the summer of 2000 Darrell had moved to Ontario and was playing in a band called "THE MERLIN CURRENT" and devoting himself to studying the Music Business, Recording, and Jazz guitar... 2003 came an Epic journey to France to find the meaning of life and the discovery of good wine and cheese! Oui.

FRICTION continued in 2003-2004 in Nova Scotia and played dozens of gigs around the province. He toured western Newfoundland in the winter of 2004, playing 2-3 times per week....then in 2005 moved to the BIG SHOW OF ONTARIO once again!

In Toronto he started the band CHAMELEONIZE and made two EPs. They played about 100 shows including a tour of eastern Canada in 2007!, the Marijuana festival for 5000 people in Toronto and organized the "Fire Victims" benefit for the Queen West fire victims.

They have been promoted on Radio EDGE, INDIE CAN and CIUT....Indie label interest came from Indica Records in Montreal and Porcelain Records in Hamilton. Regardless, the band decided it was time to call it quits and for Darrell to grab the biz by the balls.

Enter 2009... Darrell is now a Toronto music scene veteran and new solo artist working with Attila Turri, who did some of Finger Eleven's early stuff (you might have heard of them?)

“Everyday I struggle to wake up and be inspired in this concrete jungle and all I find is bitter sweet apathy…”
