"Springsteen meets Van Morrison on a bus driven by Sting"
Country/Americana with a Rock & Roll heart.

Darren Lawrence is equal parts songwriter and explorer. Willing to delve into the human experience in order to draw out captivating music which is embossed with honesty, frailty, and a distinct sense of purpose.

Raised in the rural Australian outback town of Roma, Darren's path into music came at the influence of many a late night listening to community radio in order to feel a sense of connection with the outside world. Darren's parents filled his room with musical instruments where he gravitated towards singing and playing guitar. Music quickly become the single focus of his life. As he poured hours into practice throughout his high school and university years, Darren became engaged with the craft of songwriting as an outlet for expression.

On the back of his songwriting and musicianship, Darren began touring as the lead singer of an indie rock band. However after an extended stint on the road in North America, Darren returned to Australia, disillusioned and craving a change in his life and musical direction.

This period of introspection has given birth to the most open and honest music that Darren has written in his career. Returning to the fertile creative spaces of Byron Bay, Darren began tracking with Producer Anthony Lycenko (Pete Murray, Busby Marou) at the helm. Along with his lifelong friend Phil Lew, the " Enemies and Autumn Leaves" EP was born. Debut Single " Need to Change " reflects the growth in Darren as a Songwriter, Vocalist and the fact he is closer to the truth of who he is as an Artist, than ever before.
