Bio
Saxophonist, songwriter & producer. Darryl Bennett, fearlessly balances the roles on his debut album, Homecoming, an album that the Willingboro, New Jersey grown musician explores contemporary rhythms and modern jazz overtones.
From church bands to jam bands, home recordings to major studios, Bennett has sharpened his sound around the myriad of diverse environments and cultural influences Philadelphia has to offer. He played a part on Def Jam recording artist, Earl St. Clair’s record “Man on Fire,” which went on to be featured on TV shows like TNT’s Good Behavior, and the feature movie trailer for Alien: Covenant. That tremendous experience led Bennett to working with “Man on Fire,” Grammy nominated producer, Dilemma, on his live show, “INRGI.”
He also has recorded with Hiphop artist, Teef, on the album HipHop on Purpose II, performing on stages like: Milkboy, Underground Arts, South Philadelphia’s festival “Flavors On The Ave,” Bloctober Festival and the legendary Ortlieb’s. Most recently Bennett joined forces with Worldtown vocalist, Fawziyaa Heart on her solo EP Living Here to Change, which was featured on WXPN: The Key.
Currently Bennett is working on his second EP, Eclipse—he describes as a journey into the inner workings of relationships and the self-love required to make them succeed. Eclipse will be available June, 2020.
