Das Contras is a seven-headed musical monster who loves to add it's own flavour to a range of musical styles. Switching from reggae to funk to rock to jazz, and backing it up with three-part harmonies and brass section, "this is a band that laps up the live environment and revels in getting feet from tapping to jumping."
Das Contras were winners of the PRS New Music Award and have since cemented an excellent live reputation, touring with Ozomatli, Terry Callier, Candi Staton, Marlena Shaw, Acoustic Ladyland, Curved Air, Rusted Root and Manu Chao.
Live highlights include Rochester International Festival, SPROAI Festival, Wizard Festival, Eden Festival and Glastonbury, as well as tours in Europe and the US.

The second studio album "Highest Low" is out December 2012.
