From start to finish, I was caught up in a live show that seamlessly transitioned from one great song into another. I can’t tell you the last time I walked out of a show humming hooks to songs I’ve never heard before! When these 5 guys take the stage, you’ll not only be impressed by their quality musicianship and songwriting abilities, but by the way each one of them is so stunningly unique and interesting to watch. At the same time, they move together on stage as a solid unit feeding off each other’s passion and excitement. You can’t teach a band to be charismatic, they either have it or they don’t and Dash does.” - Carolyn Stone - APD/MD/Mid-days WRWK Toledo

This alternative/rock band is something Toledo, OH can be proud of. Wow! I turned around from the bar and where did this crowd come from?!! Yes, Dash the Assassin took the stage and a crowd gathered from the wood work. They came out with no need to warm up. Immediately, they began to entertain the fans. As they continued to perform, the excitement of the musicians jumping around the stage and enjoying what they were doing was reciprocated by the crowd. - Erik Adler - Midwest ProSound

Bio

Dash the Assassin is a statement and an action. It’s a movement to bring positive social and spiritual change by combating the negative thoughts we face each day. Drawing influences from bands such as Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dredg, and The Cure, Dash writes engaging music with heartfelt emotion and intricately crafted lyrics.

In 2006, Dash were selected to play a date on the Warped Tour along with opening for national acts Kill Hannah, The Pink Spiders, Spitalfield, Valencia, Shiny Toy Guns, Last Tuesday, and Spoken. The year also included various Midwest tours, the release of a four song EP “Chaos You Can Trust”, recording their first album, and starting a label, Blindland Entertainment.

In March of 2007, Dash released What We Learn from Failure, the band’s debut full-length album including the single “Soft Locks on Glassy Blues”. Dash's commitment to innovative music with painstakingly selected lyrics can be heard from the very beginning. “We are One”, the first song written by the band, speaks honestly of the closeness felt to the victims who continue to suffer in Darfur and a longing to be a voice for those who can not speak for themselves. The music is a canvas for these lyrics, overlaying hard backbeats with atmospheric guitars and intricately crafted vocal melodies. The occasional, well placed key or synth part adds warmth and depth, and completes the personal yet epic feeling of the music.
