"Best of 2012: TBASA's Durgey Dozen"

1. Daughters of the Dead Sea – Daughters of the Dead Sea

Song of the year is hands down "The Clown." It is a earworm to the Nth degree. These three women know how to rock but their lyrics and delivery are what amaze me. This 5 song EP makes me want to plug in and play, it refreshes me and makes me feel like I am young and full of justified anger again. In fact just thinking about this album makes me want to play my guitar. - Nadamucho.com

"Daughters of the Dead Sea, The KillRoom Sessions EP"

Daughters of the Dead Sea, The Killroom Sessions (out now, self-released, facebook.com/Daughters.DOTDS): The debut EP from this all-girl West Seattle trio (formerly known as Death's Three Daughters) features '90s-sounding hard rock that veers from Sleater-Kinney ("Runaway") to Vendetta Red ("54 Roses"). The band has a softer side too, like on "Waiting Room," which dials back the tempo to feature a pretty melody, a nice counterpoint to the rest of the release's darker vibe. DL (Fri., Nov. 23, Shipwreck Tavern) - Seattle Weekly

"Daughters of the Dead Sea: ALBUM RELEASE"

Daughters of the Dead Sea are flying the flag of boggy, marshy, from-the-depths-of-ancient-ruins rock. Seattles natives are no stranger to this style and with the recent release of their EP, The KillRoom Sessions, DotDS is poised to set up permanent camp in the trenches of influential NW music.

Bio

Daughters of the Dead Sea are an all-female rock/punk trio hailing from the depths of West Seattle. Their music is pure, raw passion and energy in its most primitive form, laced with early nineties Seattle sound. These girls will punch you in the face, then rock you to sleep at night.

They have graced the vast majority of Seattle's legendary stages over the last year including the Comet, the High Dive, the Crocodile, Club Motor, Nectar, Slim's Last Chance, the Skylark, the Funhouse and Columbia City Theater. They have performed alongside many local favorites as well as national acts including Linda Perry of the 4 Non Blondes, Hobosexual, Rat City Ruckus, The Bend and Sex Offender. They performed to a packed outdoor crowd at both the Alki Art Fair 2011 as well as the Georgetown Carnival 2011. The Daughters will be headlining The Tractor Tavern in January 2013 and will be playing Barboza February 2013.

The Stranger raves about Daughters of the Dead Sea, comparing them to early Sleater-Kinney and Bikini Kill, but “with more complex sound” and praises the singer's “Corin Tucker-like warble.” The Stranger deems them a "must-see!" Their angst-ridden, passionate performances have earned them much underground buzz and shout-outs on KEXP.

Daughters of the Dead Sea's much anticipated debut EP, The Killroom Sessions was released on October 6th, 2012 to an over-capacity crowd at Easy St. Records in West Seattle. The Killroom Sessions EP debuted at #1 on the charts for Easy Street as well as in the Pacific Northwest. In addition, it ranked #32 on Easy Street's Top 100 Best-Selling Records of 2012.

The Killroom Sessions was voted #1 record of 2012 by Nadamucho.com on their Top 12 of 2012 list. The first track of the EP, "Waiting Room," has earned a slot at #2 on Seattle's Top 20 Countdown via JetCityStream radio with Marco Collins.

These girls are just warming up and already starting to make waves!
