"Casting a New Mold"

"Drawing from the classic and intricate styles of artists such as Bob Dylan, John Hiatt, John Lennon, and the poets Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg as well as the Zen koan tradition, David has developed a unique and broad style of composition resulting in fresh and modern interpretations. Casting a new mold from time-honored classics, David has an extraordinary ability to pour the past into a modern setting.

Literate, articulate, engaging and mysterious qualities abound in his original presentations, piquing the audience’s interest and drawing the listener in." - Martha Brown of Duo2o

"Critical Mass"

David Elton Harris is intent on bringing his Rocky Mountain High critical mass. The Colorado-bred musician garnered airplay on triple-A KBCO/Boulder, Colo., with Trouble Ahead, allowing his skills as a guitarist, singer, composer, and arranger to propel past the local gigs he’s regionally known for. Conjuring the likes of John Mellencamp, John Hiatt and Bob Dylan, Harris’ storytelling persona is evident across current indie offering Pink House Fly, featuring a range of acoustic folk rock tracks such as Black Eyed Dog, replete with a sweet harmonica backdrop; percussive-driven Hut; and raucous Long Slow Slide, offering a sly blues throw-down. - Billboard Discoveries

Bio

David Elton Harris’ musical career spans over 25 years in the rich and varied music scene of the Rocky Mountains and the Midwest. His ability to interpret cover tunes rivals his songwriting skills. KBCO radio, in Boulder, CO, thought enough of his art to give his song, “Trouble Ahead”, airtime! His passionate yet familiar style has been a crowd pleaser on Colorado’s Front Range.

While working as a drummer in bands such as Danz Band, The Hop’n’ Barley Band, Rowdy Bacon, The Heaters and Body English, he was afforded the opportunity to open for the bands Head East and The Drifters. This provided a solid base for what was to come. Honing his skills as a guitarist, singer, composer, and arranger in following years led to high acclaim as a solo artist and in duos with Alan Vigil, Martha Brown, Dale Cisek, and in Duo2o. From intimate coffee shop settings to larger ticketed venues, this artist has never failed to please and intrigue his audience.

Since 2003, David has lived in Summit County, CO where he offers his talents to bands such as Straight Creek Drive, Duo2o , as well as at select solo gigs. Currently he can also be found on alternating Thursdays hosting Village Square Live at the Moosejaw in Frisco, Colorado.

“Disciplined yet spontaneous” “Raw but smooth” “Sensuous” “Relaxed and intense” are some of the seemingly contradictory comments made by fellow musicians and fans. All the while, spontaneity rules when hosting open mics, jamming with others, or performing in large or small bands. David boldly and comfortably displays his exuberance for the muse. Inviting and warm, he has the ability to make fellow musicians (from beginner to seasoned) and the audience feel welcome and safe.

Drawing from the classic and intricate styles of artists such as Bob Dylan, John Hiatt, John Lennon, and the poets Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg, David has developed a unique and broad style of composition resulting in fresh and modern interpretations. Casting a new mold from time-honored classics, David has an extraordinary ability to pour the past into a modern setting.

Literate, articulate, engaging and mysterious qualities abound in his original presentations, piquing the audience’s interest and drawing the listener in. Contrasted with this is the ability to jump up on stage and jam to “All Along the Watchtower” and provide a rollicking good time for all. David’s acoustic rock style is unique and memorable. Encores are a common part of his performances, and his confidence is shared with his audience.

Duo2o with David Elton Harris and Martha Brown will be featured at this summer's Sounds of the Summit concert on Sunday July 11, 2010 at Lake Dillon Amphitheatre in Dillon, CO. They will be featured also at Alma's Festival in the Clouds on Saturday July 17, 2010 in Alma, CO. Be sure to catch them as well at Boulder's Rock n Soul Cafe on Friday May 28, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.

During the summer of 2010 Duo2o will be performing songs from the album Pink House Fly featuring the tracks Hut, Slide, Light, What Kind of Love is This?, One Never Knows, Black Eyed Dog, and Everybody’s Shouting during their set. In their new show Duo2o employ the technology of looping, sampling and backing tracks to create a strong rhythmic foundation to lay acoustic guitar and tight two part harmonies over. Imagine Lucy and Ricky meet Jack and Joss on John Hiatt’s porch…this is a modern mash-up with classic elements. Folded into the blend are choice cover tunes from Buddy and Julie Miller, Talking Heads, The Eagles and Joss Stone. This recipe makes for a refreshing change from the usual acoustic guitar army.
