DAve Crespo and Now, Up With Us

BandRockPop

For those who like to dance to pop beats and rock out to crunching guitars, DAve Crespo and Now, Up With Us is what you are looking for. With DAve's catchy songs and ranging vocals this band's songs take you on a lyrical adventure through their hometown of Boston.

Biography

DAve Crespo and Now, Up With Us is a tale of two high school bands and how they united to make something great. When John Paul and Brooks Medina left Saco, Maine and their high school band, The Posters they looked to Boston for education. Fortunately, that is not all they found. Paul and Medina found DAve Crespo and Tony Colella, members of the 2003 WBCN High School Battle of the Bands winner, Ravin Klaim. Since Crespo and Colella's former band had disintegrated due to personal problems with the band and its management, the four musicians were set to show Boston and beyond what can be done with poppy chords and blissful vocals in the new millennium.

Lyrics

Across The Charles

Written By: DAve Crespo

My intentions were riding on the mbta last night for a buck 25
it was a reason to breath on an august dog day summer night
sometimes in this town it makes you feel like everone else
Up there with the kings and queens on beacon hill worries melt
you grow a mind and body devine and wings that fly faster than the commuter rail
I watch the cement squares under your boston common feet sail across the charles

Theres nothing for me and certainly nothing for you in this god forsaken town
the same old shit down at city hall, the sox are always down
so what if i said I was tired
upset to the point of shame
and the longfellow wasn't so long anymore and its water dirty and plain

The weather here aint been so great, but it never is
just wait a minute it will change but its been 86 years down in the fens
speed demons on 93 always tryna get away
seems like they missed the exit to new york city

Love Under Hate

Written By: DAve Crespo

Steam rolled by words I couldn't hold with only two hands
things I fear ride under tears that stream across her face

we could change, we could not
this is when I found love is something that can't be fought
here and now there and then
hearts are broken hearts are fighting to be understood
to be cured or touched

I think I can find love underneath this hatred

Things go on just as they should on Huntington Avenue
The things I do always come back to you because I love

we could change, we could not
this is when I found love is something that can't be fought
here and now there and then
hearts are broken hearts are fighting to be understood
to be cured or touched

I think I can find love underneath this hatred

Good Old Days

Written By: DAve Crespo

These streets are so normal, they are so true
walk along the train tracks see a kid you once knew
nothing seems new nothing ever seems to change
nothings as good as the good old days

I live in a town ran by the bold and the rich
the old and the snobs decide who and what fits
if its not your town your different than us
dont expect us to give you too much

our eyes are narrow and our tummys are fat
but lifes just as though no matter where you're at
