My goal in songwriting and singing has always been to produce something sonically pleasing and lyrically interesting both to me and to the listener. That might mean a smooth softer emotional song or a fun, raunchy, edgy one. In my recent writing sessions (most of which appear on the CD) I have explored the humourous side of life from a more certified country place.
My influences are varied: Toby Keith and Brad Paisley on the country side, The Eagles on the country pop side, and bands like the Tragically Hip and the Georgia Satellites on the rock side. I like bringing these influences together with country sounds and instrumentation to produce something the hits the mark - interesting to me and those who stop to listen.
